so i know its a little early but ive been looking at what to buy for next year. My favorites have to be the salomon Thrusters or the armada ar6's. The salomon thrusters are based on the dumonts and the ar6's are the same. So from people who have skied the dumonts and ar6's what are the pros and cons of each ski?
fuck no on the thrusters, get the ar6's. They are much better built, last longer, and actually feel like a ski. I have thrusters and ar5's, and the ar5's are so much better.
How can anyone say thrusters? The AR6 is a vastly superior ski. It's built better, has more pop, will last longer, looks better, is a better width, is more stable, etc etc etc.
Also the thrusters are not based on the Dumont at all. Dont know where you got that information from. The thrusters are the same as the first 'spaceframe' 1080s that came out years and years ago, like 2001/2002.
i ski dumonts so the pros to me are that thier alittle bit stiffer so landing back seat wont be a bad thing then the noses are pretty flexible to me the sidecut is perfect its no really thick and it has a good edge hold the con to me is that thier pretty heavy i dont know if its because they have looks on them but thier alot heavier than the trouble makers to me so going off jumps you get weighed down personally i like them alot
i have the exact same prob... i got the ar5's and want ar6 but hatthaway was skiing the thrusters and they are so dope... post a pic to make this easier
go with the thrusters.
they are based off the dumonts and the dimensions have changed up a little. and they now have a wood core. i have rode both and i would definitely go with the thrusters.
and get the 181s. your 5'10" so you can handle them
Armada, all the way i ride ar6s and i cannot say anything bad about them. Also, Armada is rider owned company that only makes newschool skis, meaning that their best and only interest is to cater to you, the newschool skier, while Solomon has to cater to more. The interest is to satisfy themselves, and in turn, other newschool skiers. If their products satisfy the the owners of the company (some of the best skiers in the world), then they will satisfy you, the consumer, the same.
i would go with the thrusters. theyre stiffer and have more response. theyre narrower and i ski on the east, u really dont need a fat ski. 114 at the tip is fine. i also like salomons more than armada just because armada has more of a reputation to break. if ur 5'10" id go with 176 or 181, im 5'6" andi ski 167 chronics and i really wish i got 172s.
its all about what you want if your an agressive good park skier go with AR6 if you just progressing in park skiing then go thruster, personally AR6 hands down
I have both skis, love em both to deth. I feel when im on the ar6 i feels like "more of a ski" and more stable and once you break them in their amazing.
ar6 you wont regret, so much camber and life. they will last you such a long time unlike any salomon ski. Nothing against salomons I actually like the feel of them in the park, but if your in for the long run, definitley ar6.
if you were halfway retarded you would buy the thrusters. Armada is a much more reliable company, and the skis will last you a long time. plus the AR6s are ill i ride em and used to ride foils and will never go back to solomon again. armada is the way to go. end of story.
all you kids saying the thrusters suck,, you have no idea unless you skied the 08 with the monkey graphic cause it is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ski for 08
armada pwns solomon. the graphics are ridiculously flamboyant and gay on the thrusters. look at the AR6 and how much smoother and cooler the graphics are. tell me that they are not clean.
