the vx is better in low light, and I think it has better color contrast too. the min advantage to the GL2 is that it has an optical 20x zoom. that can come in handy when shooting bootsers and such.
vx2100 in possibly every way. manual white balancing...better low light shooting, less grain. i dont like the gl2. its like a man on steroids...just a showboat no real power to it
My bad, was being stupid. The ccds are the same size on both the cameras. But the lowlight shooting on the dvx is pretty much just as good. It's not enough of a reason to choose Sony. By the way I use a VX. It's an awesome camera, but the dvx is better.
well, I own both a dvx and vx2100, they are both great cameras. The vx2100 is way faster to just take out and start shooting with, and it's better in low light, and it's cheaper.
Word, it's just what you're looking to get out of your camera. I've seen great shots from both. I just think the DVX gets better shots most the time, especially if you understand all the custom settings in it.
id probably take the sony over the panisonic, but it depends on what you use it for. for doing follow cams, lots of movement, and up close intense stuff a vx would be better.
for artsy far away tripod type shots the panisonic would be better.
personally I hate the vx. it looks to digital. it looks too clear. Maybe Im just weird like that though, I like the grain on the GL2, I like its wierd contrast. you can make some artsy looking stuff with it. With a vx, artsy is harder to get, everything is interlaced.
but yea as far as clarity and ease of use, VX all the way.
for DVX footage, watch the urban shots in WAR or Ski Porn.
