An interesting day for sure. We met at 10, and waited until about 10:25 before we left. It turned out to be a crew of just four, with Dar and Billy boarding and Colin and I on skis. The hike took a lot out of everyone, and then getting everything ready to go was tiring as well. In run speed was a problem for everyone all day, because this newer snow melts very easily. We ended up throwing a bunch of snow at each other, and Dar got pushed off the cornice a few times. I will be heading up later this week, but I think I will take tomorrow off.
A cool tree in the middle of inspo. I fell into its tree well when I lost my balance because of my Trekkers, and this is the second shot.
Colin arriving at the top of the step up.
The step up from the edge of the landing.
This is the jump set up right now. There are three main possibilities, and three jumps. The regular step up, in the middle, sends one onto the deck. The jump on the right can be taken as a hip, with distances ranging from 30 to probably 80 feet if you could get the speed. The right jump can also be hit as a step up to the top, and if speed is still with you, you can hit the leftmost jump into the ending of the hip landing. Sorry about the lighting, it got dark before I could get up to take a photo.
All of this insanity is located in the big divot to the right of the first real pitch on Inspiration, after going past the main cornice which drops into Elephants.
