Loner

my friends and i are thinking of taking a trip to hike and ski tuck's. we wanted to go this weekend, but it is going to be snow and i am assuming it would be unstable conditions. i have never done this before, but i am a very good skier but inexperienced at this type of trip. what should i expect, what should i take, and what kind of weather am i looking for ideally?

never done it before but i know a lot of people around here have. current weather of tuckermans from my library window located a 38 mile straight shot away according to google maps. there is a cloud in the way. thats about it.

i would wait till more spring like conditions. The hike will be a lot easyer and less avalacnhe danger.

this isnt the type of skiing for everyone and you can get yourself in trouble quickly. Be prepared and careful. Also be smart enough to know when to abandon your plans of skiing

the most important thing to know about tux is that theres no such thing as a weather forecast. it can literally be bluebird when you get to the paking lot, and by the time youre in the nowl, it can be snowing and sub 32 degrees...in august. if the weather's bad, dont be a hero, turn back and go another day. its referred to as the worst weather in the world for a reason.

thats a hike that my neighbor puts on every year in honor of his sister...if you feel like hiking tucks and doing it for a great cause...check out that hike...its on the 28th of april this year
