Dick Trickle (born October 27, 1941 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin) is an auto racer. He raced for decades around the short tracks of Wisconsin, winning many championships along the way.

[edit] NASCAR career

In 1989 Trickle made his debut driving the #84 Miller High Life Buick for Stavola Brothers Racing. He was rookie of the year in NASCAR's Winston Cup (now the NEXTEL Cup) at age 48. His best career Winston Cup finish was third (5 times). He started 297 races, with 14 Top 5 and 32 Top 10 finishes.

My name is Richard, so in highschool it turned to Dick. Then Dick Trickle. So I was called DT or Dick Trickle, or Dick Trick or any variation you can think of for awhile. It was rad. Kids even got suspended because they called me that so much. I didn't care, but teachers hated it.

years ago I helped crew for a car that was running a support series at a NASCAR race....I was in the garage and Dick Trickle is a chain smoker I guess, he was all set to go on track, car revving, starts backing up and you see him flick the cig out the window...was hilarious. Someone said he always kept two packs in the racecar....
