Damnit. Hey Mike i know you have that blog, but is there any place to check to see if it is open before we go up? If I were to just call the general PC customer service would they know? And that new jump looks so sick, as does that wallride/upbox/barrel/flat down set up.
Okay, so how can we know when shit's open? I called the main office today and they said kings and pick 'n' shovel were closed, but uppper and lower joneseys were open. So I went up, and Joneseys was not open. : (
lower jonesys was open, upper jonesys was supposed to be open but the new snow was really tacky, ski magazine was doing their ski testing and I didn't feel like the park was safe to open because of alot of slush cookies the groomers left under all the new snow, like you would be skiing through the park and hit balls of snow under the pow. So with it being shitty all day I just kept it closed. we went in and put 3 box features in, and they put a few passes on the jump to try to get it not so icy and workable and not bumpy. there is a single tube down flat down in upper that goes down, slight kink to the right flat, down. we were going to straighten it but one didn't have time and two maybe it will be fun as it is with the goofy looking kink to it. other than that I want to put in a feature for the bbq but we'll see if I can or not.
as far as park reports go, the daily operations report is served off a single database, so what you see on the website is what is printed on flyers in the morning, it's what the operators see, and it's what you see on pcride.com current conditions. For next year there are some ideas floating around about having park specific updates, like a text being sent to your phone if you subscribe, or send a text to such and such a number and your get the update, stuff like that. but for now the dor is the best place to get info as long as it is passed on and updated on the dor. otherwise my phone is the next best place but seeing as i already have a large list of people who want conditions... I'll say no more additions to that program. I'm tired, going to bed. have a good one y'all.
ok so to add to the updates... I tried to get the DOR updated this morning before 9am, and when central called out opens at 9, she called out upper jonesys closed. so I radioed in that it was open and she never responded... but. oh, sometimes with your computers, well some computers, it puts a page in the cache and needs to be reloaded to update from your last visit. so if you don't clear your cache often, either clear your cache or hit reload sometimes when you visit the dor off a bookmark or the such and maybe that will change it from the initial visit at 7am to the second visit at 830am so on and so forth. Lather Rins Repeat. Never tested on animals. If you take too much DOR and it lasts longer than 4 hours please consult a doctor as serious injury may occur. Side effects may include nausia?, upset stomach, the screamin scoots, pelvic pain, woozyness, bloody stoohl, blood in the urine, you know, if you take this drug you'll either be cured or die a horrible death. have a nice day.
that shit was fucking dumb. ... i can't believe the people that run that fucking place built a jump like that for the public to hit. what is so hard about having a good parak all season... Mammoth and Breck, and keystone do it. if pc wins park of the year again from a snowboarder magazine that is how you know that place doesn't give a fuck about skiers, cause the people running shit are only paying off snowboard mags.
