Replying to Steping the sport up
I lot of people complain about how hucked and ugly tricks are, and that style is everything, but just think about from thsi view. The first 720 was hucked. The first 900 was hucked. But through work we have turned them into nice smooth tricks.I think we really need to see a few of the big pros stepping it up and trying bigger stuff. We are so concerned and focused on style that in a way, its slowing down the prograssion of the sport. Riders aren't trying bigger stuff because it looks 'ugly' but through a lot of hard work that same trick could be smooth as hell. Take CR for example. His first 1260's were probably the ugliest things in the world, but I think by thet time he got them down they were pretty damn smooth. But since people said it was ugly and hucked, he didnt try to step it up more. There really has to be a positive attitude to this stuff and we're not seeing that either.
Now I'm not talking about like 1800's and double misty's, but just stuff that you never see done. Double lincons, rodeo 9's and 10's, flat 9's and 10's, stuff like that may look really ugly to you now, but just like the first 720 people will learn to make the trick more fluent and smooth and eventually it will look good.
Just my two cents
