so if you could make the specs/flex/graphics and then have someone do the labor and press it up how much would you pay and if they broke or w/e youd get another/same ski for half off so how much would you pay for a ski outa your head?
it has to be less than a ski of the same characteristics from a reputable brand.
for example, if you build a ski like fugatives, I'm not going to pay that much, because I can get fugatives which would be relitively the same for 200 bucks.
If you build a fat, rockered, kickass ski, I'm not going to pay more than hellbents, cause I can buy the same ski from K2. I know hellbents will hold up, because K2 is known in the buisiness to make good skis, so I know they won't delam the first day, while your brand gives me no assurance. and if my hellbents break, they would warrentee them.
Actually if you made a fat, rockered, kickass ski, I wouldn't buy them anyways, cause I'd get on3p. :)
well if you some how could provide a warranty of some sort then i would pay maybe $350 max just because you not established and could buy from an established brand just like the other ppl said...how ever it would be kick ass if we could make our own dimensions and be guaranteed that they wont break after 5 days
i would do...400-600 cuz like regular company skis are around that price and then since its custom i would probably go around that price maybe 100 on or so
the problem with that is there is no hook. for one i dont konw enough about specs or flex to have the first clue what i wanted. also, why would i trust you to build my skis over an experienced big name company that i know makes sick skis. lastly, i couldnt make a graphic as sick as a lot of the companies out there. you need to do something different than other companies to get people to pay for your skis
yeah. 400 seems like a fair price w/ custom graphics.
but i would rather pay like $250 for a basic design. remember that on kid last month who made his skis with the big fat black stripes? something liek that.
someting in the area of 400 yeah, if you can give a good garantuee and some positive feedback from some other dudes who bought your skis. Could you get graphics on like K2 does, seth pistols/hellbent style?
Its not so much custom specs were looking for- its custom flex, camber, and graphics. You can pretty much find a ski of any desireable width and sidecut these days but will it be the stiffness you need or that graphic that will make you think your shit is tight. And at least out here in tahoe that reverse camber shit is blowing up. Basically, everyone wants their own pro-mo. But how are you going to offer it cheap? If you could find a way you might have something.
Well if you could provide some kind of warranty and maybe have a demo pair i'd way rather buy from a person then a compangy cause atleast you have some kind of connection to the person making them. so around 300 would be perfect more if they we're sick
My friends company is making my customs for 300$, my custom graphic, my own pro model, my type of base, my shape, my lenght, flex, edges, weight, core etc. Its sick, but with a real custom company they ask for 800$ and up which is crazy. Mby around 5-600$ would be a good max for the guys who don't want to spend all their money on gear.
