I've only seen studies that show the effects of weed in cigarrette form, but what about in a pipe?
Bong?
Any other water pipe?

VAPORIZER?

I'd like to see some studies that include these areas. If you can find them, could you provide a link?

not completely true... ciggs get you high, they give you a nicotine high, which is more of a clear minded high and sort of like an adrenaline rush and if you smoke for a long time you get hooked, and the high goes away, thats how people get hooked

what? i dont know i didnt read all the responses on this one. but if you're referring to damage, that's not right, cause weed doesnt have the tar/other chemicals that harm your lungs.

this. its comparing apples and oranges. maybe you get more shit in your lungs from a joint, which makes sense because it isnt filtered like a cigarette, but you also usually smoke way more cigarettes in a given amount of time. most people who smoke pot only go once a day at most, but cigarette smokers average around three a day, lots of people do a lot more. so where is the comparison on the whole picture? i dont think it exists.

I've never smoked so i obviously no nothing on the matter, but i've always wondered what they mean by tar? i mean i doesn't make sense since marijuana is after all just a plant, not some factory produced chemical mess like a cigarette.

As far as I know... there are no reports of people getting lung cancer because of purely marijuana... and there are no cases of death caused by marijuana. if anyone has evidence to prove me wrong here please post it.

Weed is not too bad for your lungs... not great for your brain though.

Tar in itself isn't necessarily "bad" for you. I smoke in the ballpark of 20 joints a day and the doctor tells me every year that I'm one healthy mother fucker. I even took it one step further last appointment and blew into the CFM tester. He said I have the lungs of a non smoker, but I've been smoking bud every single day for 9 years straight. I could be a special case, but I highly doubt it.

As for the "danger" of weed, non existent. In real terms, the damage weed does to your brain is so minimal that its almost impossible to track. They have compared weed smoke to thinks like sniffing a highlighter, drinking a full coffee (heart rate), downing a beer, and many normal activities. If you look at all the things around us (Wifi, UV, Radiation), smoking weed probably won't effect your life expectancy. Of course some people are more prone to have problems, but for the most part there really isn't any comparison you can make between cigarettes and Marijuana. One kills people and the other doesn't..lol.

No, there are no reported cases of cancer from Marijuana. EVER.

Apparently 3-4 sources now say that a chemical inside Marijuana Smoke is somehow curing lung cancer. Yeah, I'm serious.

BUT - instead of just coming in here and commenting without actually contributing I'll say this:

It seams like none of you have actually ever met a true chronic pot smoker. They exist, and they blow any study done on "4 joint a day" smokers out of the water.

i take 3-4 hits off any thing and im good to go.

now go to a person that smokes and tell them just to take 3-4 hits of that cig and see if they are good for the whole day.

Correct. Marijuana is 98% Soluble in Alcohol, and I don't know the percentage but it does dissolve into fat as well.

Many studies showed THC is 0% soluble in water, no potency is lost through filtration. If you seriously think a bong is the worst way to smoke weed you need to do some actual research, CNN isn't facts.

Since I can't edit my post I guess I'll just post again, lol.

To add to my last statement; The most harmful way to smoke Marijuana is through a blunt. Why? The blunt itself is full of carcinogens, glue, and Tobacco. Spliffs aren't much better, the glue they use is toxic and way worse than the Marijuana itself.

Smoking weed through a bong is the most "pure" way to smoke weed other than solar hits. If you want the purest hit, with no flame, get a vaporizer. Hospitals  all across the US are putting hundreds of Cancer patients on Vapes because it makes them eat, and takes some pain away. Supposedly if you smoke through a vape, there are virtually NO consequences.

ACTUALLY, the drug THC does not give/cause cancer but smoking weed can. Other chemicals in weed can cause cancer depending on what pesticides were used to grow it, what environment it was grown in, and what you use to smoke it out of. So yes smoking pot can cause cancer but THC can not.

Any smoke you inhale into your lungs is going to be bad for you. But at least the Cannabinoids found in marijuana help with many things where as cigs literal do nothing good for your body.

sick, all was claiming is that weed has more tar. and the comparison made in title most likely refers to that.

Of course weed is still healthier (if you want to call it that) than cigs.

weed smoke itself has to be harmful to an extent, its thicker smoke than cigs and people who blaze make a point of holding it in and inhaling as much as possible where as cigs people do not always inhale and obvisouly never ghost hit or anything. i smoke weed, but for kids who think theres absolutley no damage, even short term, is wrong. i would assume unfiltered bud like a joint, spoon, or blunt would be more harmful than a vape or water bong.
