Replying to Help
Only post after this if you know about mountain bikes. For a long time I've had the Schwinn Rocket 88, and it's basically crap. Not good for any kind of riding. Now it won't even shift, so I demoed the Trek Liquid 20 and loved it. It would get me up hills because of the adjustable travel, but it also did pretty well on the best part, going down and doing jumps and dropoffs. So I've wanted that bike cause it would be good for downhill and freeride and I could still do hills on it since I wasn't that into cross country. But then, just today, I went to a cross country race against all these 25 year old guys whose muscles are basically popping out of their legs, so I knew I didn't have a chance. I was using someone else's KHS Montana (a 10 year old hardtail.) I ended up in 2nd in the race, so now I want to keep doing cross country since I know I've got a good shot at it, but the Liquid 20 isn't a good cross country bike cause of the rear suspension. I could get the Liquid 30 since you can lock out the rear suspension, but that's a lot more money. Or I could get a really good cross country bike and a bike especially for downhill and freeriding since the Liquids only have up to 5 inches of travel, which is decent but not great. So, does anybody have any advice on which bike(s) to get? Thanks a lot, and if you want to send me money I'll go for that too.
Would you like freedom fries with that?
