Over the summer is when we do all the major work on newschoolers. Thats when about 40% of you guys hit the road and peace out until next christmas...
However, for the ones of you who are still left, why don't you post up all those suggestions for things you've always wanted to see here on Newschoolers.com!
We won't by any means get to all of them, but you never know what will happen... so think freely here, even if it sounds stupid to you!

yeah make the searchbar searching more advanced.
play around with the cults. The number of members is off by so many because it doesnt subtract when ever someone quits (or gets booted).
the listing of cult members is not in order at all, it changes everytime you go in. It should be changed to atleast some sort of order, maybe the order you join ?
the listing of the cults you belong to is also not in an order.
(there was alot of cult stuff)
when you go to upload a picture, have hte default setting be "private" instead of "public". That way all the newbblars dont post shit and fill up recently added with totally pointless pictures.
and regarding the home page. I like how everything is catagorized, dont get me wrong. I like how it is so informative. BUT i dunno about anyone else but i seem to miss things because different updates are different font sizes, etc. where before the prior update i didn't look past anything. Maybe you can play around with that? i know its hard because there is so much shit, but YOU guys are the ones who know what your doing.

-put a possibility of putting polls in threads
-make the searchbar more effective (make the searchbar look in threads as well as thread names
-trick tip section
-Put rules of posting close to the forum section, too many newb or flamers were posting shit.

when you upload a video have there be a SONG TITLE(s) thing so no one needs to ask
i think it would be dope for in your profile, for your home you could enter your town/city and then you could click on it and it would go to a list of all the other members on NS that live there too.. and same thing for home mountain etc
kind of how facebook is
def have the grandmaster/leaders of cults have special powers (delete threads, make stickies, etc)

I'm not sure if this forum doesn't have capabilities of it, but, why no edit button?
Oh and if we can add an edit button, although make sure mods can see edits so no idiots try to change the price of an item they sold and then claim it's been like that. It'd be really useful for tons of shit, and keep the first post of big sales actually somewhat accurate.

Be able to search specific forums.
Thumbnail all the pictures, even the ones hosted from other sites. Its legal, I've looked it up.
Make a movie / picture of the day more prominent, and make sure to bring up lots of old classics from the huge archives on the site.
Fancy Text Editor is good, but could be better and more usable.
Maybe a subcatergory for ski equipment? Maybe just a Buy/sell specific forum, and another one for gear questions?

After looking over these suggestions, here's mine:
1. The searchbar needs revamping. It needs to be able to search cults, and also not search like you're using quotes. You could match all words or one word or the exact phrase.
2. Being able to put an order to your cults. That would be pretty sweet.
3. Song title option in the video upload!
4. Don't do an edit button, but rather a "preview." This makes sure that people can see that their pictures worked and links and stuff. Have it right next to the reply button it would be spectacular.
5. And I like Sean's idea about clicking on your location and seeing who's there. But it may be cooler just to have like a regional map. And you could click on like a specific area, whether it be your state or coast or city or whatever, and then you could see who's around there.

well after the other posts i dont think I have to tak about the searchabr, we all know it needs work.
Lets talk about new members. Lets make it so that the first page they visit when they log in for the first time. A kind of "getting you stated" page. Something that answers come of the commonly asked questions and some sugestions of how to get the most out of NS.
For cult masters the ability to message everyone in the whole cult would be amazing, kind of like cc: when emailing.
Make the review section bigger, I dont mean the section because its allready good but the links to it. Make it a quick link for when your in the forums as well as out of it, that might get ride of some unnessary threads.

A) more comprehensive search bar and search function
-search within in one thread
-search keywords in threads or titles only(choose which to search)
-cult search
-choose which sub-forum to search
-be able to choose how old / recent the threads you search are
B) clean up cults
-make cult leaders have mod abilities such as sticky-ing, deleting, and moving
-cult searchbars
-clean dead cults
-better add/drop members to cults
-MASS MESSAGING of CULT MEMBERS
-sort Cult Thread and Your Cult Listings alphabetically
C) videos + pictures
-more upload capacity? just try your best.
-add song title as part of description
-choose LIST or THUMBNAIL view for clips/pictures
D) editing / my threads
-make my threads better, just make it cleaner.
-subscribe to threads / choose threads to go into My Threads
-I know some people HATE the idea of post-submit editing, but maybe a 60 second window to edit posts for gramatical errors.
-never let anyone edit their own posts/post titles ever...ever...after those 60 proposed seconds. and never deletion of your own threads.
-the ability to move your own thread to the correct sub-forum
E) quoting / thread making
-make a little arrow in the quoted text box that takes you to the quote in question. it eliminates searching through pages to see where you originally wrote your quoted post.
-have the ability to make Polls. multi-answer polls, multi-choice polls.
F) moding
-the ability to lock threads, but keep them visible. think of a post from 2001 being bumped(intentionally or unintentionally) to the top. you lock the thread so it's trashed or continually posted in, but still lets people be able to see what was posted before the lock.
...there is a lot of good ideas there. please make 'em work.

and make a quicklink to the reviews main page, so you can get more people to do that.
and delete the classifieds, or make people sell in there, and just use ski equipment for talking, not buying or selling

Not really that important but on the login thing you have to be really careful to line up the mouse with the right part of the box so that the cursor shows up. Seems like that would be pretty easy to fix..

ohh and a "how-to" section would be nice. Like a place where it shows you how to make your own rails, or the proper ways to build jumps. Or like vids from pros showing ups step by step how to do tricks. Like how to wax or tune your skis, or how to mount bindings with out a jig. Stuff like that would be pretty sweet. I hate always asking questions about that stuff on NS and always getting : " Search Bar you ass" or get refered to some cult. Like throwing in a vid or some pics with this stuff would be perfect. BTW the seach bar is a piece of shit, every time ive used it never works.

create the ability to pick your own user name color. but girls get a different set than boys so we can still tell the difference
being able to quote things in the original post in a thread

on a person's birthday, their user name should flash (like in treads and stuff) and their profile should have fireworks (idk, i thought it would be fun)
u should be able to delet comments out of your own thread
make the poll on the home page higher up. and the pic of the day. but deff keep the birthdays, that was neat idea!!
being able to make ur profile different.
and this is an idea that i think would better NS as a communtiy: make it so after u sign in, it has a pop up window of another persons profile, and in order to get it to go away, u must send them a message. hopefully that msg would be something positive or and nice greeting. i can see that there would be problems with this idea, but recieving a nice message once in a while may very well brighten someone's day! : )
also make more contests/ more oppurtunites to get NS bandana's, pleaaseee!!!

1-Have a search bar in cults ( one that works better than the giant one up there ^)
2-Make a tutorial for newbs, so that when you register to NS, you go through a tutorial about posting pictures and icons and what you should make threads about and HOW TO USE THE SEARCH BAR.
3- It would be cool if when you add a picture to NS, that it resizes itself to fit in threads.
