Tom Wallisch Takes Superunknown IV
"Nineteen year-old Tom Wallisch, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was officially announced today as the winner of Superunknown IV. In what was undoubtedly the tightest race in the competitions brief history, he narrowly edged out a super talented field of contenders from around the globe, including most notably David Beaulieu, whose submission displayed a bag of tricks and urban prowess topping many seasoned pros and veteran ski-industry rockstars alike.
At the end of the day, it was Tom's silky smooth style, uber-techincal tricks, and his unparalleled ability to ski both with and without poles that put him on top.
"Well I'm really, really excited," Wallisch said. "I feel like this contest is one of the best out there. It really gives no name kids a chance to just film themselves without pressure and truely showcase thier skills to the industry. I'm just really stoked to have the opportunity to enter such a contest and be considered amongst the best up and comers in the sport. And i'm really stoked, did I mention that?... Winning this contest is really just an honor..."
Tom will join the likes of Corey Vanular, JD Zicat, and Mike Clarke, previous winners that have gone on to further prove themselves as some of the best talent in the sport, killing contests, video segments, and everything in between.
"I'd also like to say thanks to the kids I ride with everyday who push me and make this sport oooohhh so fun, and thanks to my parents for also supporting me," added Wallisch. Keep an eye out for Tom to make an appearance in the newest Level 1 flick, "Realtime," and expect him to be blowing things up for years to come.
A huge thanks goes out to each and every person that put together a submission for this year's Superunknown contest.
Have you got what it takes to follow up Tom and win Superunknown V? Get out and get filming!"
