Whats happening with it? i didnt even realise it was on today, i know last year it was my favourite comp and yet its getting little or no coverage?well from what iv seen anyway
I left around 3:30 this afternoon and I didn't see anyone hit it. I was skiing a lot the last two days (only watching the event for 30 minutes at a time, here and there) so I could have missed people hitting it, but Saturday i never saw anyone near it and today the conditions were sketchy and never saw anyone do anything more than speedcheck it.
like it was stated above, you can't compare the two events, because jon's is an actual competition, where as candide's is a session. I think it's bullshit that jon moved his competition to the weekend of candide's invite. Candide doesn't ask for very much, and he gets out there breaking his back to build and entire PARK of features for people to session, not just one unnecessarily well sculpted jump.
yeah its true, they are leaving it up for a week and i knmow loads of riders who are planning to get some footage/pics there. It was worth seeing for the ram sculpture alone!
one of the iriest ski weekends i've had. skiing was epic saturday with lots of sun and spleefs. concert saturday night was out of control, with michael rose rocking out a huge crowd until 3am. never seen more mj at a concert, and i've seen the dead and phish. watching candide ski is crazy too. when he drops in everybody goes nuts. he's on a totally different level than any pro i've seen.
I've been wondering all week why that jump needed to be all perfectly angular and shit. I guess it goes with the aesthetic that Jon is going for, but still. Crazier shit goes down at Candide's course every year. Jon's is just a big self-love fest.
