im going out on april vacation (14th) is it worth bringing all my ski stuff im mainly going for white water rafting, but skiing would be sick to. i know alot of places such as copper are closing that weekend and that a-basin will stay open for a while but is it worth all the trouble? i mean i really want to go skiing but will there be snow and terrain parks anywhere
I would say probably not worth it at all. I mean you are coming out to go rafting. You may get what 1 day of skiing in 2 at the max. Traveling for skiing requires a bunch of extra shit and is a huge hassle if you are not going on a skiing specific trip. And then if you don't end up going, you just lugged around twice the amount of shit you needed to for no reason. I'd say if you can get up to A-Basin 2 or three times go for it, but if not, just come back later.
end of season the parks are so sick. slushy rules, and there's plenty of snow left, nothing will be closed down. the main question is whether you wanna pack all your stuff as was mentioned before. but if you like skiing park... i wouldn't recommend missing it. check out winter park, their terrain parks are off the skiing radar and on point. top 10 in transworld snowboarding, never seen them ranked at all in any skiing mag. the snowboarders are right.
flying from massachusetts, but ill be staying is frisco so its a short drive to a-basin and all those places, i will definetly go 2 days no more no less, the thing that sucks is that its rainy where i live and all the snow is gone so im not all pumped about skiing, plus i came out in february, but hey i cant really pass up skiing in colorado. ever
Yea dude shit you are in Frisco go for it! I'm not sure about this either but maybe night skiing will still be on at Keystone? Anyone know when they shut down for good? If it's still going you could even go after rafting and get some good skiing in.
yea im going for sure but arent some places closing the 15th? i dont know but i heard that somewhere. the only thing that sucks is that im skiing by myself but thats what an ipod is for
yeah its like 6 minutes from copper 40 minutes to vail maybe 45-50 to a-basin and its basically at breckenridge.
imo breckenridge and vail sucked when i went. rich bitches/gapers galore. copper was by far my favorite, although that could be because i stayed there and could walk to the lift or because the 3 days i skied there we got 6" or more a night.
