i know i am comparing two kind of different skis but i would like some advice. im 6'2" 170 and ski 60/40 park/all-mountain. i live in michigan so my all-mountain is mostly groomers and the occasional mid west powder day. i want a ski that is stable at high speeds, is durable, and is mid flex. i have skied next years t-halls and liked them but i think i would like something fatter. any advice/input would be helpful
Ive skied both. The t-halls are a bit stiffer, but not by much. Its a toss up. The t's do well everywhere, contrary to what people say. I think the extra width on the ArV would do you better.
i got arvs and i probably ride 70/30 park to freeride, and christysports has this years on sale right now for 300
...i got the 185s and im the same size as you
the t hall is kinda fun, but it's way too soft for me. the arv is way way way too soft, to the point that i don't feel comfortable at high speeds or in any sort of charging situation. if you are going to be skiing mostly park, get ar6s. they're substantially stiffer than both the thall and the arv.
i considered the ar6 but it would be nxt years ski and i do not like the graphic and my shop tech cant get this years. and i am buying from my shop because i can get a pro form deal
whats it matter? the waist is only a 95...i know a couple people who have some nordica blowers that they ride and they are 110 or 115 in the waist. i want a fatter park/all mountain ski and the arv's fit that
I live in Minnesota, which I would consider worse in some or most cases, I was lookin at the ARV also because I want a ski over 180 that can perform all over my shit hill or any other big hill. Why would that ever be a problem?
alright so i your getting ARVs
i got 185s too and im mounting them true center its the way to go
plus 5 cm back from center is 1 cm back from the recomended mounthing place your nuts man just go center you'll like em so much better
hmm thats the info i needed. i think ill go 2 back then. because i dont really want a center mount becasue i would like to use them all mountain too and center isnt very good for that...is it?
ive read mixed reviews about it so im not completely sure
i have been on true center for about 3 years now and i really feel no difference from a couple cm back
i got Rossi FKS 185 freeride bindings for mine cause you need a wide break, i got mine from colorado freeskier and they sent em super fast they dont have any more FKS 185s cause like no one does but they have px14 and px12 with wide breaks and they have good prices i would deff recomend them
i just solved this dilemma by buying both. but if you have to go for just one, i would go for the ARV because it will work better in steeps and light pow as well as the park. the t-halls are super fun in park but suck extremely hard in steeps and powder.
