Don't try to get sponsored if you aren't interested in putting in some work. Otherwise you're just a drain on the industry. Be prepared to put some time in at demos, comps, and generally pumping up you product.
That being said, the best way to go about it is make a vid showing your best stuff. Also, write a resume. Be sure to include how you can help your sponsors out. They hear from thousands of kids wanting free stuff. They're only going to help you if you can help them. From there, try to meet up with reps or contact some of the smaller companies that have a good grass roots program.
Sponsorship is as much about attitude as it is about riding ability. I have a couple friends who are sponsored, not because they are the best riders around, but because they are good with people and at advertising their product. Be confident and friendly with people, and don't be a jerk. That will get you a long way.
DUDE MESSAGE ME IF YOU WANT TO TRY TO GET HOOKED UP WITH SALOMON. IM LOOKING FOR ALOT OF KIDS TO MESSAGE ME WITH VARIOUS PROMOTIONAL VIDEOS THAT THEY WANT THE SALOMON REP TO LOOK AT. JUST MESSAGE ME. THANKS!! IF YOU SEND THE BEST VIDEO, YOU CAN EASILY GET NEXT YEARS GEAR. THE NEW THRUSTERS FOR EXAMPLE..
start complaining that you want a sponsor once youre too old for your parents to pay for your equipment, until then leave the contracts at the office buddy
why do all you kids hate on some one coming on here for advice are your lives really that boring? You can get sponsored with 7s and 9s if you have good style and a few other tricks in the bag. Start small like a local shop then make a vid do lots of compss be nice to everybody and learn to sell your self and show sponsors why you stand out from the pack and you will eventually get hooked up.
sometimes its better to get spanzerd by a local shop and get them to introduce you to companies the next season while you start to get your name out thre more
i talked to a salomon rep who was way chill and skied a couple runs with him i washed out on sw 7 mute and did 7 s and big 5s in pipe and he said he would try to remember my name so hunt for way cool reps
