Hung out with him at Killington this weekend. He was a cool as shit, we were hanging out in the parking lot at my buddies RV, he was just like everyone else. How come people hate on him in this site??
He can throw down there's no denying that. The only probelm I have with him is how he marketed skiing. I'm fine with having skiing a bit more mainstream but I think alot of people will agree that when it's mispresented it sucks. I feel alot of what he did just kind of represented skiing as something it really wasn't.
noones denying his talent. hes got it no doubt. plus he brought a lot of publicity to almost freeskiing. but hes kind of like bode miller. most of the press gotten off of him doesn't really benefit newschool skiing. just the same old crap because people saw him hittin moguls and pullin pencil spins and think thats steezy
Actually the first dinner roll in the very first JM invitational was more like a misty, then the next year it was more like a rode/flat spin thingy, then it kinda just turned into a corked 7. Its the magical morphing dinner roll. "How much more butter can he put on that thing?"-after doing the unthinkable DINNER ROLL 900!
I always hated on JM, the first and fore most reason being he didn't deserve that gold metal, there were so many better runs then he had. Secondly how the dinner roll changed like 3 times, oh well big deal. I guess Im just an ass though cause when i was in whistler many a moons ago and meet him he was defiantly the most friendly pro i meet there.
Ya, Moseley helped our sport out a lot. He helped mogul skiing out hugely. They now no longer have the most restricting rule ever with no inverts, basically thanks to the dinner roll.
Moseley is one of the best skiers ever. I wish he had kept going in the industry. He changed mogul skiing for the better, and in his day was possibly the best all-around skier in the world. Who else can you name who can put together a truly great big mountain segment(TGR, the realm) in the same season as they compete for medals in the x-games? No one that I can think of. CR comes close, he is going in the right direction, but I don't think anyone has combined as many disciplines at that level the way Moseley has. His competing in the x-games helped give them legitimacy and helped pave the way for the current crop. Moseley was throwing down sick first descents and killing it his first season in AK. I don't know any other newschoolers who can say that. If he had kept going with skiing he might have been the best skier ever.
hes one of thebest skiers in history any one thathates is a player hater he makes more money than any skier, won a gold medal changed an entire sport and has pimped more hoes than youve had hot dinners.
JM for life...he was sick and still is. Everything he has done to the sport is positive, any publicity is good publicity ecspecially when it comes in the form of olympic medals.
