I went there and:

-skiing - close to lots of skiing. GOOD skiing too. Sugarbush, Stowe, and smuggs are within 40 minutes. Jay is 1 1/2 hours away.

-location - Burlington is a great town. On a lake, fun downtown, good area in general.
-people - lots of fake hippies (trustafarians). Lots of good people, lots of assholes. 10,000 kids so you'll find who you want.

-food - mix of good and bad food. The actual dining halls are OK, the stores on campus where you use points/cash are good.

-dorms - totally depends on the dorm. There are 30 some dorms I believe and there are great rooms and shitty rooms. I lived in a shitty shitty shitty dorm. Some are incredible though - almost hotel-like.

-important things - big school. If you don't want big classes in your general ed classes, don't pick here. If you want big classes for gen-ed classes, this is your place. TONS of options in academics, activites, etc.

-anything - DON'T FUCK with the people in the book store. They suck to begin with and will make your life difficult. Otherwise, the school fucks you in every possible way, but for most people, it's worth it to be at a chill school. I found being in a fraternity a waste of time and a mistake, but some people love Greek life at UVM.

-sports - GO TO HOCKEY GAMES! So much fun.

like how many people in the gen ed classes? and does it matter what school youre in?

I know that for science classes you can expect 100+ kids, nutrition class was 150+ and psychology was 100 kids or so. Sure, it matters what school you're in when it comes to major-specific classes, as my Prevention and Care for Injuries class was 15 kids, but Gen-ed classes will be very large for the most part.

for the people that go there-where is your pass to? i know of the bolton-jay pass thats pretty cheap, but i imagine the stowe pass is pretty expensive

yo i got a jay bolton for 189, stowe pass is in the 300-400 range, but its worth it, i went there all through high school and its definitely a better mountain than jay or bolton
