For 5'9 in the 130's is 180 a good length ski for me?

I might be able to get a sick ski at 180 cm, should I go for it or settle for a 171, 175 or 176. I supposed to be 6 ft in 2 years or so.

I'm 5'10, 140 and ride a 176 T Hall. If you can get a good deal on 180s go for it they should be perfect.

depends on the ski and your ability. at 130sih, your really light. if its a ski like an STL or fujative, your fine. but if its on the stiffer end of the spectrum, it might be too much ski for you. and since your asking if it would work, you prolly arnt super expierenced yet, so be careful. a soft, light jib ski, then definatly go for it. if its like a Mojo or Karma, itll work you over.

I would not go that far till you have seen me ski. I just don't buy enough skis to know a ton about them and want to make an educated decision when I finally do buy them. Thanks anyways.

so go to your local shop and ask an expert instead of kids on this site that claim to know everything...dont get me wrong there are some kids that know a lot of stuff but nothing beats some legit knowledge from a shop owner

his advice was actually good. what ski are you looking to get, because that matters a lot like he said. if you are getting fujatives that would be fine because they are much easier to ski than a stiff ski like the mojos or karmas. just because at your weight there will be no way that you would be able to flex a stiff ski enough to make it carve. trust me i got some 186 pollards when i was like 5'10 and about 145 and i have no idea how i didnt die on those things. now i am 6'2 and 160 and i can finally ski those things to their ability because i can acutally flex the ski.
if you are getting something stiff go with like 175, but if they are soft skis that would work.

I ski east coast, park a lot, all mountain a lot, and pipe when its in condition. I'm captain of my schools race team, so I want something that can fly.
