hey my rents say that im too old to start freestyle skiing haha. Im 17 and my best trick so far is a 360 or a tweaked mute. Am i too old to start progressing and learning?
they are right , you are too old... now sell them double tip skis and buy yourself a pair of race skis.. get rid of them snowboarder pants and jackets and get yourself a race suit. . . what do you think you are? a snowboarder or something?
i was going up the chair with this old guy on a monoboard who looks like santa and he said "i see kids on the jumps and i think i should try them. but im 72 so ill stay on the ground"
people peak at different times. alot of times you see little kids who are sick shit, then they go through puberty and cant do anything with style cuz they are all akward. if your atheltic go for it.
Pretty much same as everyone else is saying. You're never too old. I started when I was 19. I'm 26 now, still progressing, and even riding for some Co's. Just be smart about it. 10 year olds don't break things when they fall, you do. Don't try to learn everything at once and try new tricks out on trampoline or diving board first if you can. Most of all, do it because you like doing it, not to be the best.
I think everyone has already said it but I just hope that I am still progressing when I get into my 20s. I figure when I am in college I could make it so I could go to school like 3 days a week and ride 3 days aweek...and study one day
ha
i have a friend who's 20, and he's amazingly good. he was just picked up by a spaancer this year. it's a just a crazed out lil board shop, but anything's still awesome. i don't get why he doesn't move out west. maybe cuz he's really good among the suckas here. lol.. whateva.
anyways kiddo, you're def. not to old for anything.
i'm 22 and still progressing and finding my way around the ski industry. i finally learned 7s with grabs and cab 5s this year, as well as 450s out. as someone said earlier, once you hit a certain age, its not about can you do it, its about you constantly having to get the idea of getting hurt out of your head. once i banished that thought, i stomped the 7 first try as if i had done them hundreds of times. you're not too old at all man, just go out there, have a good time with your friends and kill it.
it doesn't matter what age you are - skiing is skiing, no matter who or how or when or whatever... A lot of pro skiers didn't start freeskiing till their teens. Just go out there and have fun with your friends.
