hey my rents say that im too old to start freestyle skiing haha. Im 17 and my best trick so far is a 360 or a tweaked mute. Am i too old to start progressing and learning?
i hope not or else that would mean im too old too. we're definatly at a disadvantage though cuz stuff is easier to learn and doesnt hurt as much when your younger
no way man, you can jib til you are like 35+. 17 is a good year to start in my opinion for sure. Just dont do anything rediculously dangerous that could hurt you badly and you will be fine.
hhaha yeah im a big puss alot of the time, im 16 btw, but yeah just progress at your own pace, but also push yourself its realy the only way to progress, just know you are going to fall once or twice when you learn something, but just get back up and try it again
your 17. are you even considering listening to your parents? at that age, if your parents say no that automatically means yes.
granted, your a lil behind most kids your age, but at the same time, ^ is right about teenage insanity. at that age, injury never even entered my mind, and you still bounce back from shit like the lil kids. if you already got 3s, you aint doin too bad. besides, so what if you dont have a early start, its about havin fun, not being the BEST skier ever.
i'm 16 and i just started and i can't 3
hahaha
i suck horiably
i've only been skiing for 3 years
and this is the first that i have really pushed myself or gone more than twice a year i love it
Never to old man, I am 26 and throwning down large. 2 years ago my old man of 46 threw a 5 off a 40 foot booter, first real big trick ever.
After seeing that, all expectations are shattered!
the liklyhoood of you going pro will be less..... but to start it, i dont think there is a "too old" its just to ski and have fun! so no way there is know way in hell your too old.
The only thing about getting older is you start thinking to much, I'm only 21 but everytime I got to learn something new I have to focus a while to get the thought of getting hurt bad out of my head... because you don't want to go over that C-rail or whatever for the first time thinking you will mess up, it sounds weird but it's like that for me. Doing stuff I already know (not specificly skiïng-like) doesn't scare me at all although their are some things I do that are way more potentially dangerous then jumping on rail or trying that first 3. So it's not me being a pussy.
A friend of mine startet with freestyle 3 years ago after a terrible crash on a snowboard. He was 21 at this time.
Now he´s sponsored by Volkl and he´s maybe one of the sickest persons I know. He tried sw7 first time on a ~50f booter and landed on his side...
Skied away if it was nothing.
Not a chance, you're only 2 years older than me, and i was kinda wondering if i was slow, doing my first 3 this year, but there is still a good 15+ years ahead for crazy stuff.
Also, i think only the kids who can do 1080's of 50 footers before high-school will become pro. Just have fun
