Traveling ski school for kids under 18 and in the TC

Learn to spell, and then I will beleive it would be a first class act. But basically everyone in this forum is good at skiing so I doubt you will have much luck here. It was worth a shot though.

im also an instructor with blizzard, although i teach the super mites program (never ever's) but if you want the chance to get out every weekend blizzard is totally worth it.

Nyboria i think is good but for the price i think you get jacked. I've been around the midwest for a while and i wish I went to blizzard as a younger kid and they had a freestyle program. Also you can only get so good if your hitting the same shit over and over. You have to switch it up every once in a while.

But like i said. five it a thought. cause i need more kids. plan and simple

I just thought I would let everyone about some other options in the TC area for getting better in the park. Blizzard is one traveling school; Skijammers is another (www.skijammers.com). Skijammers has had a park program (for both skiing and boarding) for four or five years now. We’ve got great instructors and travel to different areas each week like Blizzad. Honestly for park stuff that isn’t always the best.

Another option for slightly more serious skiers would be the D-Teams at each area. They have one or two weekly practices and four contests (big air, slopestyle and a weird carving contest). Again, both ski and board. I coach for the X-Team at Hyland, but Buck, Afton, Wild, Trollhaugen, Welch and Steeplechase all have teams. The nice thing that we get at Hyland is the park to ourselves for an hour when we practice Sunday mornings.

The previous options are more recreational and fun. You will get better, but there isn’t a huge time or money commitment.

Nybora is the next step or two up, more time and more money and more serious.

At this point those are the options in the TC area.

Sry man not to say anything wrong about the d-team......but the one at buck hill is a joke. I was lookin for a job last year figured i could get one coaching there. Went in to talk to the manager guy and he told me that i was not qualified enough....ya i was pissed when i heard this. Just my 2 cents on the d-team at buck though. Could be very different at other ski areas.

nybora is the shizznit. coaches are the dopest around and we have produced top skiers. Our kids get sponsors. we put out top skiers like Everly Ghoman, Cody Ling, Zack Mertz hell Erik Iberg was once a team member. Nybora has a history of champions that cant be beat. It isn't a cheap team but thats because we have a private jump site that no one but us is allowed to use. There is no profit made from nybora its a break even deal. Also the team is a tight group everyone supports and helps each other but coaches are always around to help out. thats just what i have to say about all that stuff.

i don't think is why anyone should ski, it should be fun, not for money

The D-Teams just compete together. Each ski school runs their own team. At Hyland the X-Team (what we call the D-Team cause it sounds cooler) is an introductory to high -mid level program. We actually feed quite a few boarders into the G-Team (snowboard version of Nybora). I look at it the same way for skiers (once we get some). Start on X-Team for a year or two, then head to Nybora to get serious.

If you are working on better switch 7s or 9s, the D-Teams probably aren't for you (but they could be). If you are a decent skier/boarder with no park experience and want to learn to slide a box and do a 3, D-Teams are perfect.

The X-Team at Hyland is also a really good deal. Something like $475 for a 12 week program (Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights) with a full season pass included.

I can't say how any of the other areas hire or train coaches for their teams. If anyone wants to coach at Hyland (assuming we have enough kids next year), let me know. I'm the head coach.
