haha yah i didnt apply yet but we have like college class things with our guidance counselor and with my grades i can easily get in and with all the extra curriculars too, plus i go to private HS so that might help

how about 5 mountains, stowe, sugarbush, smuggs, bolton valley (20 mins from burlington), and of course jay peak! ya i can say UVM is the shit, sooooo fun

to the kid who made this thread, i don't know if you're looking for information on more schools in vermont, i don't know much but maybe check out.


middlebury (if your really smart)

champlain, castleton, and st. mikes are pretty easy to get into and are decent schools (i think)

I'm going to st. michaels college. it's right outside of burlington and you get a season pass to smuggs for 25$. im pretty pumped. I also got into UVM but I live out of state and its public so it's more expensive cause they don't give many scholarships for out of state people

it's not as cheap as $25 but at UVM we got a pass to jay and bolton valley with not black out dates for $200, i was pretty stoked on it

middlebury is really good academically, near sugarbush, mad river glenn an stowe and they have their own mountain

yea most of those colleges are very expensive. and without a scholarship it could take awhile to pay back the loans and whatnot.

i got into uvm, and i actually got a scholorship today. but its between uvm and unh for me, and i need some uvmers to sway me towards uvm, for the right reasons.

im gonna be up there on april 6th if anyone else is

champlains hardest to get into/most legit in the area , if your gpa is solid you should consider applying, keep in mind the workload is extremely demanding

DONT GO TO UNH.  Everyone ive met who goes there are a bunch of drunken retards with no personality.  Go to UVM and you'll get a good education, way cool people anywhere you go, and tons of shit to do (including really good skiing)

champlain isn't hard to get into or do well in academically from everything my friends have told me.  they never do any work and have gpa's above 3.5

i dont know if its been said, but Lyndon State is another one. I don't think its too great of a school unless your into meteorology, but Burke Mt. is right there.

Camp Champ?? they were only a two year school untill like 8 years ago, much easier and cheaper then UVM. And its only a block away from UVM still in downtown burlington. If you just wanna ski and dont really care much about school that is the place

UNH isn't too far. Lyndon State is close to Burke which is a super cool resort, but the park isn't so great

Lyndon State is a sick college. I might be going there. It has ski resort and management and digital media which are 2 programs that I wouldn't mind getting into. I've heard ski resort is a sick program from what my friend has said. I also applied to Champlain. I also heard that it was easy to get into but that's just me.

i go to middlebury. its not super close to legit parks but driveing around an hour to go isnt bad at all. and theres also the snowbowl whichi didnt bother goin this year. its like 15 miinutes away, and there supposedly getting rails and stuff for next year which would be kinda neat.

yeah thats where i go. Burke is 10 minutes away and there are always tons of kids to ride with there. Plus there is always shit setup on campus with decent urban on campus and surrounding. Also Jay is only 45 minutes. Really easy to get into and os no middlebury in terms of academics. Couple of good departments though: meteorology, tv, and ski resort

lyndon is in beween st johnsbury and burke. The only thing this doesent show is the NH resorts. Loon Bretton Woods and other nh resorts are close, as well as Mt. Washington.

dartmouth, its in NH but literally 1 minute from vermont. It is close to killington, has its own skiway (really cheap, not too great terrain), sugarbush is not too far.

UVM is pretty sweet, close to everything, and Burlington is the best city ever. the admissions were kicked up recently, but if you can get in, id say go for it, both of my parents went there, and a bunch of my friends probably will too.

I wouldn't be so sure of yourself yet. I know plenty of people that were just about guaranteed entry to uvm, and were much more qualified than me, but got turned down.

if you want good schools and good skiing definitely go for burlington. the best schools are there, green mountain, castleton and other schools arent very good academically and theres really only killington in that area. uvm st mikes and champlain are the best bet id say for academics and good skiing (mountains up north are so much better than anything south of killington unless you get magic on a pow day)
