i just got a brand new pair of rossignol scratch bc 05/06 with rossi scratch 140 bindings. i was told by someone to mount the bindings between modern and standard to get a better park feel. i disagreed because i am the kind of skier who would much rather hit some moguls, the woods, or just bomb some groomers. however i do go into the park occasionally to hit some jumps with various tricks. the length is 178, where should i mount them?
go with the advice that was given, mount them in between modern and standard. you'll barely notice a difference when skiing them and you'll appreciate when you're spinning, trust me
from looking at my friends skis there is a center mount point then another point like 2cm back, id say go to the line thats like 2cm back from center it wont make any difference in the park and will be great for all mtn
If you don't ride a ton of park then I'd say mount them up standard....maybe between the two if you ride switch or do some switch tricks/landings.
FWIW, I mounted mine up modern and actually wish that I had mounted them forward more. 'Course, I ride a lot of park and I ski switch probably 60% of the time on the mountain.
The BC and the FS both have two lines on them (at least the 05/06 do). The modern line is the more forward of the two, but it IS NOT a center mount. If you wanted to center mount the skis, you would have to go, mmmm, maybe another 2 or 3 cms forward.
I would say that the modern line is probably at 3cms from true center, and the standard line is probably 5cms or so from true center
I guy that I work with is a rep for Rossignol...he just got next year's Scratchs (or Ghettos, I guess for 07/08) and they now have three lines. The furthest back is standard, then modern, and they now have a line that is true center mount labeled "addicted". It's probably 2 or 3 cms in front of the modern line. Sooo, the modern line is not a center mount point.
