Tremblants park is sick, but Jay has pretty sick woods, especially if there is powder. ive only been to each one once, but i would say Tremblant was a lot more fun for me
having gone to both a lot, tremblant is awesome for the park and from what you have written if your going there for like christmas, there is an awesome village for partying
Jays park is always real nice... not as nice as Tremblant but Jay always has a good 40' and some other jumps. Not too many rails like tremblant but they also had a really fun step up and they have an S rail, large rainbow, etc. Also, Jay has so much more mountain to offer... tremblant isn't very exciting outside of the park and the lift lines at Jay are a lot shorter. I would definitely choose Jay over Tremblant (unless you want to have some crazy night life - then Tremblant cuz its nuts there haha).
tremblants park is good, pipes mad icy tho. jay has a park but not as good at tblant. they both have good tree skiing but jay has the closest to what bc is on this coast
ive been to both, tremblant is sick parkwise but powder and weather arent great, its always cold, i went mid april 2 years ago and they had to close the gondola because of wind and cold. On the otherhand, Jay has great trees and powder. I went at christmas and they didnt have their park up, only a small one which wasnt very good. So for you, if you like powder more go to Jay, If you like park more go to Tremblant
jay will have almost no park in december, tremblant only slightly better. Jay is wayy cheaper, less crowded, and has better terrain and better snow. But no nightlife. I live in montreal about equal distance from both and ski Jay almost every weekend, havnt been to tremblant once this season.
If youre going strictly for good skiing; Id say Jay....but If you want to rip a better park and getdrunk and party with plenty of teenqueens; Tremblants the place to be
I went to tremblant in the summer the village is amazing.. and i hear they have a 24 hour jib set up like in the village. this true? and will jay have good pow runs by christmas?
I ski Jay all the time and for powder trees and backountry they cant be beat. They do have a nice park but it is always slow to get made. Chrismas if iffy on the big park being built.
I wish my rents still went to tremblant..went 2-3 years in a row, 1 year to Bromont, then back to tremblant, too bad we stopped that 2-3 years ago. I love canada, but now they're all into going to austria, didn't go with them but we went to Keystone and they still said they like austria more, so i hope i'm not disappointed next year.
After riding tremblant the past 10 years, all i'm going to say is there park isnt' much of anything by christmas break, and i've never had an uber powderday at temblant, go with Jay.
actually having skied both over christmas this season I wouldnt expect much from either. there was more open at trembs early season since snowmaking is a priority there and theres more chance of having something like a park set up. jay will be good if they get natural snow but its highly unpredictable (we had rain last christmas and very little snow before) One good thing about tremblant is the ease of getting lodging as well as a bigger variety of things to do when the weather sucks
Jay gets the pow man, I've more pow days at Jay than anywhere else in the NE, and last Sunday was 26 inches. Check their snowfall record -- they are in a storm shadow and just get DUMPED. The terrain is the best in the NE for glades hands down and has LOTS of stashes. And the mtn stays hardcore. It has this creepy little lodge from the 60s right outta some dank version of The Shining and crappy greasy burgers for lunch. Thus it rocks. Also Jay is $30 CDN for students and they accept CDN at par for tix -- !! -- making it the cheapest anywhere.
Tremblant has a kick ass park and is the place to go for that but so does Avila and Avila is cheaper. So in the end Tremblant has the village, good and cheap mtn food, parties, bring your chickie there for the drinks man, the Quebecois know how to rock. And when it does snow and it isn't minus fucking 40 surrounded by tourists and gapers swarming down the 4 open runs, the terrain is excellent as well.
yah, I mean Tremblant got what, 1.3 metres of snow this year TOTAL? WTF. if it wasn't for the quebecois ski bunnies and the beers at Le Diable and the park.. forget-it.
