on a good week where i get to do all the skiing i want i probably get close to 30 hrs a week. a lot is sacrificed during ski season. a lot of my not riding friends are lost for the winter at least. my grades turn to shit, but i do make more money working at the hill. but living without it is out of the question. i plan on dying while skiing 3 feet of fresh pow and taking a bad spill when i'm 80 years old.
lastly, the best part of skiing for me would have to be the freedom. on any day i can go almost anywhere in the world, haven't yet, and go skiing. i can ski with friends or go solo with my music. its more of a feeling of euphoria that i get when i ski. its hard to explain. one of those things where you have to have done it to understand
hope that helps

How many hours a week do you spend skiing?
generally like 3 days a week, like 6 hours a day... 18ish
What do you sacrifice to be able to ski?
uh, skip classes, be mad broke, not go out as much at night.
Could you live without it?
I could, but I'd be a pretty unhappy camper.
What's the best part of skiing/why do you love it?
it's fun, I can do whatever I want. filming is probably my favorite part cuz it makes you focus a little more but messing around is just as fun.

I have my boots on all day (8-4) everyday (apart from now, when I'm injured), but a lot of that is instructing, not real skiing, for myself I'd reckon about 25 hours a week.
I sacrificed basically my entire life back home, a lot of cash for a flight over here. A lot of cash for a flight down to NZ this summer.
I could live without it, it's not like I'd die, and I have other activities that have and could easily fill the void, but skiing is going to be my life until at least this time next year and if I stop after that I will miss it hard.
I love all the different things you can do with skiing, and how there is always something new to try and another level to reach. I love the feeling after a solid day skiing when all you are thinking about is how great it was and all you have to worry about is finding a sofa, some food and a beer.

How many hours a week do you spend skiing?
Actual skiing, weekends only unfortunately. Time spent on NS or looking at equipment and thinking about skiing? Too many to count. Hours everyday.
What do you sacrifice to be able to ski?
Money, grades, sleep, sanity
Could you live without it?
I'd spend my time surfing, but I'd have nothing to do in the winter. And I'm just not as good at surfing as I am at skiing.
What's the best part of skiing/why do you love it?
Having fun with my family or with my friends. Even with shitty conditions skiing with friends can be fun, just doing stupid things or whatever and making fun of each other. I also love being out in nature and breathing some fresh mountain air on a cool morning. I can't imagine being stuck inside all day watching the same old movie on the tv waiting for the weather to warm up. The free experience of flying down the mountain is what does it for me. I love every second of it. Driving through a storm, tracking the weather, waking up at 6, standing on lift lines, navigating around, it all leads to the amazing feeling of just... skiing. It should be an adjective.

1. 15-20 hours, depending on school
2. Any friends that don't ski, getting action, maaad $
3. I would honestly become less of a person without skiing. Even though i would take up another sport, there would be a void that would always be there...
4. Slaying 2 ft of fresh while getting face shots every turn, skiing gnar lines and stompin the shit out of them, being in the mtns, going fast, hitting park. Like people have said, there is a truly unexplainable feeling associated with skiing that only other skiers understand. Because there really isn't a good reason to drive 4 hrs roundtrip to ski 3hrs other than you had that intense craving for snow

30 or more a week...
my body, girlfriends... relationships with non skiing friends.. being finacially comfortable
i could i guess... i would rollerblade all year but that would kill my body even more and skiing feels sooooo much better...
the adrenaline is better than any drug ive ever taken... my mind is filled with nothing but skiing almost 24/7, even when i skate in the summer... i think of it as a substitute for skiing... there has been just totally epic moments when ive been skiing that literally brought tears of joy to my eyes. not like crying, ive just been soooo pumped and so stoked and sooo happy and sooo high on adrenaline while skiing that my eyes began to water... and not from the wind... good fucking times my friend...

How many hours a week do you spend skiing?
Probably 17 on average: two days on the weekend, plus jibbing in between.
What do you sacrifice to be able to ski?
My grades
Whatever feeble attempts I might make at a having a girlfriend
My parents money
Could you live without it?
There is a distinct differance between skiers and people who ski. Skiers do not care what the conditions are, or what they have to do to get their turns. They ski because they love it. People who ski hit up the hill because it amuses them and is a way to spend time. They go inside when it's foggy, stay at home/in their condo when it is dumping, and ski only during the winter when the conditions are perfect. Only a person who skis could ask if I could live without it, because if they were a skier, they would know without asking.
What's the best part of skiing/why do you love it
I love the face shots, the new tricks landed, the funny wrecks, the chairlift raves, the old school trains, the chances to fly, and the reasons to travel, but most of all I cherish the people I am blessed to meet and ski with for whatever period of time, be it one run or for several years every weekend.

What do you sacrifice to be able to ski?
Parties, chilling with friends(that don't ski).
Could you live without it? In a depressive state, yes.
What's the best part of skiing/why do you love it? Best part is stomping a sick trick and claiming it like nobody's businness. And the competition between friends of who stomps it first.

How many hours a week do you spend skiing?
About 15
What do you sacrifice to be able to ski?
Classes, money, and my bones.
Could you live without it?
I could live most likely, but I would dearly miss it and still try to get that same feeling doing something else the best way i can. Also, alcoholism would fully take over if skiing left.
What's the best part of skiing/why do you love it?
When you have that one sick park run where you cleanly stomp every single trick you hit. That feeling is so good.
All times are Eastern (-5)
