Getting viruses off of a laptop

so im getting my sisters laptop. its a dell, only like 3 years old i think. but she says its just full of viruses. like anything with explorer doesnt work and its super slow. so is there anything i can do to take them off? or do i need to get it done professionally? like i know with my compaq desktop i can like reboot it or something. where it just totally wipes everything out of it.

best way is to run a virus scan or take it to a computer boutique if you wanna keep the information. Or, format the computer

try to burn your music and important shit onto cds/dvds and reinstall windows. you can also try doing a virus scan. i reccamend AVG spyware scanner. download the free trial and use it.
