alright, if i try to log onto my user name on the windows xp main page thing, it gives me this error and it says "windows can not load you personal profile becasue of a corrupt file" or something like that. so it takes me to a "tempoary user" and it doesnt have like any of my things on my desktop,i have to re install shit. all my files are still on the computer i just need to find them casue im not on my user name on a temp on. so if anyone know how to fix this that would be awsome, becasue if i log off or restart on this temp user name thing, it does not save anything i did, so when i log back on i have to re do everything and its so god damn annyoing. so any help would be great. thanks guys
most likly if this is your p[ersonal comp then your login name is the admin. In which case, if you were to create a new account or use the temp one, you dont have access to many of the files that you need. Try restarting in safe mode, then once it boots up, go into my computer and copy all files you want to a cd/flash key/zip disk, then reformat the comp.
log on as an administrator and create yourself a new username. then all your files are in "C:\documents and setting\*username*\....." and just copy them over
that's what i was going to say...during the start up it will ask you if you want to go into preferences by hitting F-something..im too lazy to look it up. then it will give you the option of going into your profile in "safe mode"...do that and save everything you want. then you're going to have to start a new profile/restore your entire computer.
