Olin Mark IV The tip is pretty small but its there. My friends dad had some. I think he threw them away unfortunately.

Ya, when twin tips were first made for freestyle purposes the first twin ever was the Poacher made by K2.

i thought line made skiboards first and then came out with their first twintips the same year salomon made the 1080. was k2 before that?

we found a pair of thoes at goodwill for like $5 they are pimp.

i think the 1080's came before anything but maybe the skiboards came first to whos knows i'm just glad skiboarding isn't cool

Yeah poachers were the first made for freestyle, along with the ross e nole's(almost a skiboard) and the pipelines. The poachers are just el camino with a twin.

olin mark 4's were made for freestyle, just not newschool freestyle

if you read Lines history on their website it tells how line came out with a twintip the same year as the 1080.

yeah read the propaganda on the LINE website (www.lineskis.com) they got the whole story. jay made some fruit boots in his parents garage first, that gave birth to the twin tip ski a few years later. the 1080, the 1260, and the ostness dragon were the first twins according to them, they all came out in the same year.

My uncle has these huge ass 'Blizzard Hotdogs'. Metal silver topsheet with orange paint on it. Rounded tip at the back, almost as high as my Concepts. Early 80s or maybe even 70s. He still rides them too.

has anyone here been to big sky in MT? i was at some shop at the base there and over the entrance there were a pair of wooden skis from back in the days that were twinned... i dunno if they were made recently and someone threw some old school leather bindings on em to make em look old or if they truly were real skis from back in the day... but they were wooden skis and they were twinned...

ur all wrong. I dont want to sound like a dick, but ur all wrong. The first twin tip ever is at the Colorado Ski Museum in Vail. It is 170cm long, all wooden, and a massive twin tip. It was used first in like the 50's for instructors to ski backwards down the bunny slope and watch their group above them on the hill. Then the ballet skiers started using them. I hate to say it but the ballet skiing in the late 60's and through the 70's was the beginning of freestyle. Doing flips and spins and landing backwards isnt really that new...

there were 2 james bond skiers, back in the day

i know one dude was named mike Nemisharry (sp?

anyways he invented most of the old school aerails moves, he was really good and crazy until he broke his neck,

now he drives around the world collecting money for spinal cord studies, he's based out of ottawa
