So I am going on my spring break to Whistler next week and the extended forecast is calling for rain early in the week, to all you locals- does this mean that it will be raining on the mountain or will it be snowing at higher altitudes? It would be a real bummer if our trip got rained out so any info would be greatly appreciated.
it all depends where the freezing level is, and that is always said on the mountain forecasts so just compare the base of the mountain to the freezing level. I was there a couple weeks ago and they were calling for rain all week, but it snowed in the village so it was awesome on the mountain.
Just got back, It rained on monday, but snowed higher up the mountain so tuesday turned out to be pretty epic-about a foot at peak. Caught 10'th chair at peak tues. morning and was launching cliffs into waist deep...it was a fuckin blast even though the rest of the week was mediocre. Whistler is a blast, the bars are sick and the folks are nice, oh yeah...and the bud is top notch!
dont lie... the herb is crap at best
oh wait, your probably from the east
even the medical dispensaries up there have crap that would be called b-grade here in tahoe... Whistler is sick other than the lack of good herb.
Actually I'm not from the east coast, Minnesota rather, but the bud was good compared to what we usually get in the mid west, and cheap too... $50 5 gram bags...but i wish we were all as lucky as you Californians when it comes to danks.
