so my brake snapped off the other day after i landed switch and ate it..is it bad to ski without one? other than the fact that if my ski falls off it will become a high speed projectile
haha, man neither of my skis had brakes for like 3 months... just crank up the dins! 1 came off once and hit a fence and stopped. That was skiing indoors tho.
sure, if you wanna be a dick and endanger everyone at your hill to save 30 bucks... go for it! not to mention you could lose your ski in the woods. with the number of gapers where I ride if you didn't have breaks there'd be dozens of dead kids scattered around the park every day.
Hapened to me the other day, no body could get to it, even on skis. Luckily it hit some body and stopped, but it also knocked them down. It was fortunate it fifnt happen in the out of bounds shit im usually on.
i broke 2 brakes in one day from my ski ejecting switch. just get a new brake and check your dins and forward pressure. sure beats getting you pass taken from ski patrol...
it happened to me once at mammoth. I was on the old enemys (this was like 4 years ago) and I just stepped out, I was slipping a course, and it just took off straight towards a liftline. my break didnt break, it just got stuck. it ended up hitting the fence and flying like 15 feet in the air. pretty sweet, but I was pretty sure I was going to get sued.
brakes are like the only problem i ever had, its bad when u see your ski crusin down the hill..... once it goes into the woods or something, your done. get brakes for sure.
Salomon brakes snap off waaay too easily. That scenario has happened to me at least 3 times now...
what is even worse is when your entire back portion of the binding rips out of the ski... and your ski flys down the hill at about 40 mph and slams into a snowboarder or some 7 year old snowplower...
mine broke off last week, but im not sure if i can get a new brake, cause the plastic on top came off to, do they replace that to or can i just not get a new break??
Your a fucking FOOL!!! the BEST bindings you can buy are rossi FKS or P18, Im guessing your ride salomons? Super there 100% plastic and might as well say Fisher price on em.
I feel ya on the brakes.....i had my din too low and when i landed on my 5's they kept popping out....i bent 2 in one day past the point of being fixed and i bent one more the next day but i bent it back right away.......i hate my brakes
definitely get new brakes. ive had to replace mine twice. i went skiing with a broken brake one time and i lost my ski which went into this nearly vertical tree run. i spent half my day looking for it. and thats not fun. spending 15 bucks is better that having to chase after your ski every time you eject and risking losing your ski untill when the snow melts and someone finds it.
haha take a look at my photos i had this happen also ! freekin marker Free's and the whole brake thing just got messed up and came off ... i went to the repair shop at a little hill i was at and they set me up with a whole new one, five bucks ... but at keystone they didnt gimme anything really ...
