Stale Bagels

I was on NS eating stale bagels, and I realized that this shit sucks. I have 60 of them, and that's all I have to eat for the rest of the week. Fucking they're already hard and nasty. College sucks sometimes. True story.

Truth, my friend. The problem is that if you nuke it and don't eat it quick enough it gets really hard, to the point of being inedible. Normally this isn't a problem, but I am too poor for juice, so the bagels dry out my mouth and I can't eat them too fast. Woe is me.

Oh, poor college student eh?

I lived for two months of college on 1 bag of oatmeal, 1 can of lemonade mix and ketchup soup.

Step 1. Got to McDonalds (or any ski hill caf where they have ketchup in a pump)
Step 2. Order a free water, and ask for a couple of the creamers for coffee and grab a few packets of pepper.

Step 3. Drink the water, or throw it out.

Step 4. Fill the cup with ketchup. Go Home.

Step 5. Mix the ketchup 1:.25 with boiling water and the creamers. (more creamers are better)

Step 6. Add pepper, Enjoy soup..

There's a lot of better food, but it keeps your gut from grumbling.

Oh and for gas money, just throw some poor man's parties with the rule that you get to keep the empties.

Hahaha... wow, that's resourcefulness right there. Food is the hardest shit to buy... so expensive, and it always feels like a waste. I'd much rather spend it on things that make me feel different, but then I starve... what a predicament.

there was a dark period in my past when i was living in dekalb illinois, never had any money, and one my my only sources of food was the "bagel dumpster." there was a bagel shop down town, and they always threw out whole bags of day old bagels. which i would then take out of the dumpster (they were always in a bag, so they werent covered in garbage or anything) and live off of for the next week. stale bagels and water- it gets a little old. interestingly, that was the last winter i ever spent in the midwest

I was up in quebec once stayin with some french canadians. We went out to get breakfast and they said that quebec was famous for their bagels. Their bagels are awful. They were super hard and terrible.

This is why i love living in new york city. I can get a fresh, still warm from the oven bagel for 59 cents. Food is so cheap here, and it tastes so good. Nothing beats those corner grills where you can get shish kebabs and gyros. Immigrants rule.

Nah, microwave. I also found another problem with nuking bagels, they not only get rigid after they cool off, but they're way too chewy when they're warm. I'd rather just deal with the stale crisp they get.

no lie, I had a new york vendor gyro once, and it was soooooo damn good. but anyways, if you have a krispy kreme around you, go in when the hot and ready sign is on, and you get a free kripy kreme, do this10-15 times throughout the day, each time wearing a shirt a different way or something. also, when the machine flips the doughnuts(sp) while deep frying, some dont get flipped, and if the guy seems cool,ask him if you can have some reject doughnuts for free, they taste just as good, if not better, and then, so that you not a moocher, just buy one krispy kreme, so you end up paying 70 cents, and getting like 5 doughnuts.

why do you have 60 bagels? just curious...i have drank nothing but that gross ass mountain dew (i cant think of the name but its the grape/purple kind...totally sucks cock) for a few months just because it was convinient and i had come across 3 large crates of it.

Haha, word. Well, I knew the cafeteria was closing for spring break so I stole a ton of bagels from there so I wouldn't have to pay for food from a grocery store or whatever. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
