looks sick right now
there arent any rails out yet but it looks like theres gonna be 2 rails to start it off again followed by i think 4 really good looking stepdowns, the last one isnt as much of a stepdown but is just as sick as the others. and it look slike there will probably be another rail to close it out.
question for everyone... are your lift tix/credentials good for all the days or do you have to renew them each day so you only actually get them if you qualify? Theres no way I'd compete but I think its a pretty hot deal if the credentials are good for all the days... get to ride a sick park for atleast a day and then chill with some solid skiers, maybe learn some stuff etc... any input? Prolly don't want to see anyone like me ride haha but would it be worth it?
yea credentials are good for all 5 days. its a pretty fun event, but come prepared if you want to ride stuff/compete cus the skill level is easily the best on the east coast and you are gonna be hitting some decent sized stuff.
it doesnt seem like there would be the speed for a jump of that size anywhere on the course, last year flowed really nicely as far as speed is concerned and i dont think any of the jumps were even 60... hopefully i'm wrong, but a 100 footer doesn't seem logical
I can handle decent sized stuff, I just don't have my 5s/7s dialed since I tore my knee up a year and a half ago and havent been riding park, handling 60s-70s is no problem, just getting that shit and switch shit dialed... I'd just ride for fun, idk if I'll make it, I'll see, like I said, no way I'd compete with you guys, but it could be fun anyways
i hope the big air is 100-110 feet, i dont think its humanly possible to fit a jump that big on the trail the course is on, especially if they're having 4 jumps which i has been confirmed by the stratton park guy, sooooo this is a falsity unless the jump in question is the big air jump.
the big air jump IS on suntanner, they were building it today. As for the US Open/VTO course, from the lift I could not see the upper rails, but I could see a jump line that was freakin huge (3 Jumps in total) Then at the bottom there is an option of a mellow battle ship box and a high flat rail. The rail must be 8ft off the ground or so, but there is also a really big gap from the lip to the rail. I want to see some spins onto it.
largest jump looks about 85 90. first hit is a flat down then a down (rail i belive) then its a four jump line then long battle box or 10 foot high 8 foot (at least) gap on rail option. and the pipe looks liek somethign out of SSX. They took last years pipe and added 100 plus feet of length
YES there is going to be a 100 foot jump on the bottom of suntanner for the big air of the us open. i don't know if they are doing big air for the vt open or they are going to turn that jump into the quarter pipe that is usual for the vt open.
all the other descriptions have been pretty accurate. the pipe is absolutely insane and the jump line is so sick. so happy i work here and get to ride it all
that's for the slopestyle, the 110 is the big air. HOWEVER there is no way in hell the big air jump can be 110 by the looks of the way they pushed all the snow around. Right now it appears as if the big air jump will be sort of a step up and no where near 110
they look much better than last year with a lot more pop and theyre definitely longer. all the rails look real sick and the big air looks like the biggest pile of snow stratton has ever piled up, including last years qp. i heard its probably a step up and thats what it looks like they could shape it into but whatever it is it shuld definlitley be sick.
i was there today and its a down flat down flat like 30ft into, a 2foot wide 30ft long box, then 4 jumps 40 45 60 50 and at end is flat bar with a small up kink at end and a 10ft tall flat bar
bullshit. if the "110 ft table" is supposed to be there instead of the qp, then its bullshit--look at the snowboarding us open (going on now)...they have a huge qp.
holy tits this sounds nice. and where's the vid of the qp? when we were there timo they were pushing for the big air on suntanner, and the park guys said so. so there.
personally i think it is a good setup for jumps. i dont think anything should be too big or gnarly for a comp unless its like the candide invite or JOI. simply because you will have tons of kids from tons of area there and you should have stuff that most people will be good with hitting. plus you want jumps that are big enough to throw down on but not too big to the point of being really intimidating.
and as for the dfdf i agree. i could see dfd, but not a triple kink.
