Replying to Ski industry follow Burton's warranty example.
I worked at a snowboard shop and I must say wether you hate Burton or love them they know how to do the warranty thing right.
if your board, binding, boots, clothing, goggles, bag, or any other thing you have is messed up you ship it to them and they promise to have it fixed or replaced and shipped back to you in 48 hours or less.
they even do it out of warranty. about 3 or 4 times someone came in with a 3 year old board or binding that was out of warranty, half of the time they didnt even have a receipt. I called Burton explained that they didnt have a receipt and I explained how it was broken and didnt lie at all all 4 times it was the owners fault I explained that it was the persons fault and even after all that they gave all 4 of those people this years board and usuallyshipped it with a free T-shirt or hoddie or something.
from talking to them on the phone I could tell that they weren't trying to find any excuse not to lose money by having to replace a product, they were actually trying to find any way of getting that person back on the snow. they may have lost some money that day but they earned a couple of loyal customers and word of mouth advertising.
