well im not very good at carving switch so I decided to go to a slow run and practice. I was going very slow and had complete control. I made sure not to go anywhere near anybody and I felt I was improving. my friend (the photographer I assist) used to be a pro snowboarder was nice enough to hang with me on the slow run so he was going slow riding up on the side coming back down and crossing over to the other side. when I got at the bottom a ski patrol called me over and said he should take my pass for going backwards and said he should take my friends pass for snowboarding on the sides, I explained that I was in total control and that he used to be a pro snowboarder and that there was no way either of us would hurt someone on the bunny slope.
the guy said that it didnt matter that I was in control because the others might think im not (I dont see how others doubting my ability makes me a danger to them). he gave us another chance and we went off.
what pisses me off about this is that had I been turned around because of lack of control he wouldnt have said anything and if my friend had gone on the side because of lack of control the patroler wouldnt have said anything, yet when we know what were doing its a problem.
bullshit
anyone ever had something stupid like this happen to them?
