i have the chance to buy 4frnt vct for 350$ and get the deadbold 416 for 130$. i wanna know what you guys think about that on a pow ski. i'm moving to WAshington and i know i'll need a pow ski so i just want some oponions.
Wellll is this going to be another ski in your quiver or an all mountain ski? We dont really have 'pow' here in washington, we have what we affectionately call concrete.
I've got a pair, love'em. I also have a pair of Gotama's, they ski pretty similar. They kill the whole mountain, stomp landings(better than Got), edge hold(not sure yet, haven't had and really hard stuff).. my guess would be the Got is better here. Bases are more durable, topsheet gets chewed up easily. Lightweight for a ski this size(183). I've had these in waist deep powder and they handled it well. High speed stability, got wins, VCT skis a bit shorter because of the more upturned rear tail.
I just moved here to WA and also have a set of VCTs. They're GREAT. I ski them all mountain unless conditions are extremely icy. They've been great on the few days we got hammered with snow. You're also close enough to Whistler and they kick ass there. They are not as nimble as my Skogens in the park but other than that, they rock all mountain. Shoot me a message if you wanna ski sometime.
