How do these people do it? Just natural talent? Do you copy it from a picture?
and also what do you draw first? The head? The skis?

i draw skis, then knees, then arms, then head, then poles, then next sequence shot.
but before all of that i make the kicker and inrun. i make the landing later usually.

i draw the head, then the shoulders, and from there i decide the grab or what he's gonna do, then i draw sketches of the arms and waist, to see if i've made it right, next are the legs, then the skis, then th feet accordingly...

I do the landscape first, get the jump and the landing in. Then I make a parabolic line off of the jump to the landing. I usually start with the skis, but some of the ones I really like I've started with the legs first. I usually draw the skis/legs out for every frame, then go and fill in the torso for every frame, then arms, head... kinda like that. Then I erase all the extra stuff that helped me draw it (trace lines, ect) and put some nifty details in.

Be confident with your skillz
Own the paper with the pencil
Never copy someone elses work
Every work of art is different
A skier is hard to draw, start with the head
Generally, start by sketching
Indeed, some finished products look very nice
Really focus on shading
Look out for pens, they dont erase well
When working make sure there arent distractions
Hold your paper to the light when working
I like to start with the skis of the skier
Led is important if your using pencils
Everyone has different stylez
Damnit is what youll say if you mess up at the end
Always work under good lighting
Nap if you feel tired, your drawing will look better if your rested
Concetrate hard on small details
If your hand hurts, hit it against a desk
Newschoolers is a good resource for picture ideas
Go get started!

do you guys get like gray blotches all over your paper when you draw? the pencil marks I already laid down get rubbed up against my hand and smudged all over the place?
and also, my drawings suck so far, will i get better?

just do it in class wenever youre bored. i started doing it in the begining of the year. it sucked but its started to get better. but then i just stopped doing it because i dont feel like drawing anymore. i ususally drew the landscape stuff but really lightly because the person has to land in the landing and come off te jump, and you dont want the jump to kinda be on top of the skier

I use a mechanical pencil for most of mine, and kinda have two lines: Faint soft ones that get erased and harder sharper final lines. I dont smudge much, never really been a problem. And yeah, my first ones were pretty bad... the ones I do now aren't much better... but yeah, figuring out the trick and how to show movement has become a lot easier. Practice makes perfect, but if you're bored in class, its a fun distraction, and you'll improve before you know it.
