My daughter can ski switch!

Yeah, no big deal, but she's barely 5 years old! She's also skiing off of about 3 foot high drops. So flame me if I'm proud of these small accomplishments. I just have to get her to start looking behind her when she's skiing switch - it's kinda dangerous right now when she skis up to the lift line without looking....

But the battle begins. My wife is a snowboarder, and she's trying to get her to switch to snowboard next year.

And at this age it's most about how pink the skis or snowboard is.....

Any girls out there that started early remember what made it fun (or not fun)?

the racer chaser is what taught me how to ski when I was 2 at mt. bachelor. it was actually a more effective method of me towing my dad down the hill, he couldnt go as fast as me.

wow I have to give you the biggest props ever!

That is prob the best thing you could ever do to your little two year old children! Skiing is the best family sport on the planet, and will always stay like that with people like you keeping the sport alive from generation to generation. I just hope I live the lifestyle that lets me do the same when I'm your age!

what is with little kids and the woods. i would have to follow my little brother all over the mountain and he would ALWAYS go into the woods, but thanks to him i'm a pretty good tree/pow skier. lol

my best advice would be to just not push her at all.. only let her ski when she wants to, not when you want her too because then she will learn to not like it and starting this young, it can easily cause a burnout by shes 10.. let her progress naturally off jumps and stuff like that also..

it happens all the time in wakeboarding, you will have a 10 year old kid who is amazing because he has been riding since he was 3.. then he quits because he hates it..

Roxy has gotten into ski gear.  They make glittery bindings and pink polka dot skis and what not.

same goes with me man, i just try hard to keep them happy so parents don't get mad, but there are a few that stand out and actually start turning and snaking down the hill. I think im going to teach the jumps and bumps program next year so that will be a lot funner

your daughter is going to be amazing at skiing. my parents didnt get me started in anything at all. its gay. i just started skiing a 2 seasons ago when i turned 15... grrr
