So like two inches of my edge under foot got ripped out on my Dumonts the rest of the skis are in really good shape I wasnt hitten urban or anything, anyone know if solomon will warrenty them?
i dont hit more rails then anyone else, Im not all park i also dont do big disasters. I had a pair of trouble makers and the edge didnt come out for three years granted im doing more rails now then i was 4 years ago. Im tryin to get ahold of my guy at the shop ill update when i hear anything
Bottom line on missing edge warrenty is this. In most cases (get it: in most) if there is any evidence of rails being done (rounded edges, scuffs, impacts, etc) the warrenty will not be honored. The specific incident doesnt have to be on a rail, but if the integrity of the ski was comprimised at all, they wont warrenty it.
Think of it this way, if you crashed a car and dented the radiator, and a week later, the radiator started leaking from the dent. Would you expect the car dealer to fix your mess up?
Its that way with ski companies. No matter how a ski is marketed, it is not warrentiable the second it touches a rail IN MOST CASES.
Disclaimer: Some people have had railed skis warrentied and the previous statements are not intended to make you think your skis will or will not get warrentied.
^^^Yeah thats kinda what i was expecting...It makes sense but the thing thats kinda gay is they advertise their skis as having "full width total edge reinforcement". And as a "slopestyle weapon". I would think that these babies would last for more then 30 days.
Im not bitching about the gear and at know time did i say that they just fell apart they just broke too soon. But too your comment "they are skis" they are skis made for skiing park. I will get another pair in a second prolly a 181 if i dont get any help from salomon. Anyone send salomon a ski with this prob and actually get some help?
dude, COME ON. if your gonna ski park (and Rails), just get used to the fact that skis arnt gonna last. if your lucky, youll get a season out of them. i frequently go through skis on a monthly basis. it sucks, but its just part of the game. if you can deal with that, go make carves.
besides, thats a pipe ski, and the salomons have narrow edges. figure out where the edge is pulled out to, grind that shit off, and pull the loose edge out. you can make an epoxy edge to seal it, but if you arnt comfy, go to a shop and have them form an epoxy edge. you dont want a replacement metal one.
Aight first of all im not pissed, i just thought that they would last a little longer. Second Its not just a pipe ski its a park and pipe ski its not like the Pipecleaners in which they made the edges a little thinner to reduce weight. Third I didnt know that they could do that epoxy edge ill def get that done, you think itl last till the end of the season?
