well i just got new salomon s810 ti's and a ski shop mounted them and such yada yada..and if i kick the tail of my ski on the ground kinda hard my boot will come out of the toe piece. i have the same kind of bindings (different year) on my other skis and they dont do it, do i know its not the boots, and i had people at my ski shop tightedn the wings, and raise the pice under the toe a little, still nothing.. do you think i have a defective pair or what?
put your boots in and tighten the screw on the top of the tow piece until it feels solid. and maybe increase your DIN. im no expert, but thats what i did andi tworked fine.
Dumbest post ever?
It's one of these things: the toe wings aren't adjusted properly (Sally's are a bitch and a half for toe wing issues), the forward pressure isn't set right...have it adjusted, the DIN is too low...tighten them down a notch or two. Try those and you should be golden.
It is eithere the wing adjuastment, tighten the screw on the right side of the toe piece. or its the nose pressure(what pushes the toe of the boot down). To adjust this put the boot in the binding and tighten the screw on the top of the toe piece till it just touches the bottom of your boot.
salomon bindings are very adjustable, bring them to a shop or find the shop manual online explaining how to do all of the adjustments (its material sent to shops to inform the techs...) read up on proper tolerances and go at it yourself, having so many adjustments, they may come loose, pain int he ass but my 912s are fine and previous 810s did fine as well... just know what you're doing before you go turning screws...
As said above make sure forward pressure is good. Also when the they are tigthening down the toe piece they should have a card of specific thickness that they slide between the boot and the AFD, when the card just starts to "stick" and becomes harder to slide around in there they are tight enough. also the screws on the sides of the toe wings should be tight enough that the wings don't wiggle but are just snug against the boot.
please... Take a really soft ski. Fix the forward pressure, toe height, Wing adjustment, and DIN. Flex said ski very hard ie press on tails.
Binding will release. Pure and simple. TRY IT. When soft ski is really flexed the toe and heel units move closer increasing force on boot until release occurs. Now this only happens with very soft skis.
Word is Bond
my friend had a problem with his toe peice so he just got a compltely new toe peice it looks kinda goofy cus its red and all the other binders are like black
