This is what Nips had to session on yesterday 3/12 minus the pipe which they were shaping while there.  I might add that they were salting the lips and trannies by 11 am.

The pipe is now open again. Sorry for the delay. The pipe schedule will be as follows until we get some cooler temps.
We have to limit the hours the pipe is open otherwise it will go to s#$t and not be worth riding. Pipe will be open from around 11am to 5pm. There will be no night riding after the recut and it will be closed in the morning so we can give it a good salting before it gets tracked out. Also depending on conditions and what the day requires of my time, I might be doing some mid-day recuts to extend the sessions a little longer into the evening. We'll do whatever it takes to offer a good pipe...just keep in mind that its been in the 60's during the day and the 40's at night up here..not exactly good weather for maintaining a fresh pipe with fresh snow. It rides so sick though...even better than the previous pipe.

Other new additions to the park:
a four line of serious snow jibs on 49ner.
a 3 line of 20-25ft tables on 49ner
two lines of BMX jumps on 49ner..think there are around 12 of them now.
aND FOR THE KIDDIES, a couple of ride on jibs, rollers and micro jumps on Cedar.

Still looking for a spot for the wallride and I think we are going to put the mini stall wall back at the bottom of KidzX.

Also, the Boss Man is going to reno tomorrow to pick up a bunch of very cool jibable plastic barrels.

i might go to bb this weekend because mountain creek is starting to get worse now and also because the biggest jump they have is a 20-25 ft step down thats starting to get really boring, hows bb gonna be this weekend? i wanna hit some jumps that are a little bigger that are around 35 ft

and i think im gonna go to coc this year because high north is just too expensive now. and if i go to coc im only doing the 5 day session

yea im either gonna go to c or d because my friend has baseball, his name is ten8ty89 on here and hes also in this cult. and he says baseball ends in early july so im gonna go the same session as him with my brother and maybe another friend

yo i hear that boulder is horrible now? what happened i was hoping to ride after bear closed but it doesnt look like thats gonna happen. They cant rebuild a park in the really hot temps that are comming up so basically if they dont do it today, its not gonna work out too well. And put up when you are going to take shit out. You have already been blacklisted by the better business beauru for stating a park on your website that you dont even have opened.

uhhhhh...  wasssup steve..  rebuilds are happening wednesday.  the landings have flattened out but EVERYTHING was hittable Sunday. NIps was getting creative with all kinds of stuff that you don't find elsewhere or would get flagged for doing.. All the fresh snow combined with the wind made most of the jumps useless on Saturday, no doubt.

BTW  keep this in mind.  when we left boulder last night 8:30pm  temp was 25 - when we passed the Quakertown exit on 476 at 9:30pm the temp was 34. They have 18 inches of fresh snow to build with on top of an already humongous base.  They wont have a problem with features "setting" up IMO 

Most of the staff has been off, tending to previous engagements, however they recut the pipe Saturday. I am not worried in the least bit that things will be back to usual if not bigger and better for the last MONTH of thier season.

The plan is to have the Double Decker lodge open with minimum services on the 3 trails closest filled with park features.  Look for a really good scene for the remainder of the year. 

Last point.  passes are on sale now for next season that include the reamainder of this season along with $50 debit money and 2 additional passes, discounts at other resorts etc etc.  With about a month left in thier season. using the pass for the remainder of the season about pays for itself this year!

you cant push a jump in 70 degree weather. you can cut a pipe maybe although i doubt that anyone around here could but you cant push snow into large piles. what is your obsession with boreal? papa you really need to stop being a marketer for bb. noone cares anymore and people hate your kid and you because you do it so much.

Wow............  whats up with you.  One minute you say you can't do this and that and then you say well maybe...   I don't know what makes you such an expert to say what can be done and what can't be done, but basically you are saying that what I watched for 6 hours at Boreal is a lie.  This is silly.  I have the video of huge piles of snow being pushed..  I am wondering if your experience is only with man made snow.


I know that BB claiming and promoting or whatever gets on some peoples nerves - on the other hand lots of people appreciate the info. You never seemed to complain when I was hyping Bear last year!!   I am really sorry that we have not been able to fit in a visit this year.  maybe if you are open the 28th we can visit.

how do you think summer camps build their parks if it isnt possible to push a jump in 70 degree weather? it is 70 degrees out wen they start building their parks right?

they dont have the shit snow we do around here. working with natural snow and working with man made crap are entirely different. its tough to even call the stuff that blue blows snow. however, what they blow holds up really nicely when its warm out. i'm gonna try and get up to boulder a few more times this season if they really do stay open that much longer than blue. as far as bear, papa, you would have been wasting your time. for various reasons, it pretty much sucked every time i was there this year. i used to have a lot of fun riding at bear, but it just never happened this year.

The fact is that pushing in hot temps causes alot of snow to melt really quickly. Its better to build jumps in the cold and then let them sit when it is warm out. If you try and push alot of snow when it is warm, each blade full gets dramatically smaller once you push it to its final place. Here in PA, we dont have alot of snow. I know that people are going to say that the base is big and all, but the fact is compared to put west are bases are almost non existent. When you try to rebuild a park in the warm you lose a whole lot of snow and the more you need to push the more you lose. Trying to build a whole park and push all new piles will simply just waste alot of snow while trying to push.

On the glacier there is lots of snow and they really don't need to worry about it that much (I don't think.) I also don't think hey push when it it that warm. I'm not really positive on how they do it though, id ask Bishop if you are interested.

As for pipe cutting it doesn't really matter the warmth if you are re cutting because you are not pushing anything. No pushing so it really doesn't matter as much.

I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm ripping apart Boulder. I think they did a good job with their parks this year from what Ive heard. I don't think, however, that the park was as good as it was hyped up to be when the Mtn. Creek guys were there. The business practices at the mountain are also pretty terrible but thats another issue.

I hope Boulder can put together something for April, and if they do I will be there but I have doubts that the park that is being hyped to go until mid-April and beyond will be as special as some are playing it up to be. If it is than great for everyone, I just don't think it will happen. I guess we will have to wait.

it kinda sucks because my mom is worried that i might get hurt again and everything because this is the second time i got injured. the first time was wen i spiral fractured my humerus and had to get a metal plate in there, but i get my results from the mri back on monday or tuesday so if i beg my mom i might be able to go to boulder next weekend
