Nordica Beast 10 or salomon 1080 boot

I was wondering which of theses two boots is more of an all mountain/ park boot. 60% All mountain 40% park I hear that both are good in the terrain park and from what i've read the salomon 1080 flyer is more for the terrain park. I'm a big guy 6 foot 225 and don't want a boot that is to soft where its flexing like crazy on me all over the mountain.
So whats your guys thoughts. Any other suggestions. I've tried em both on and and i like the 1080 a little better in fit. But i like both boots
Oh yeah i meant the 07 Beast 10 and the 07 Salomon 1080 Flyer. I have a crappy beat pair of Technica somethings that are like 5 years old

i havent ridden the nordica beast boots but i own last years 1080 foil boots and they are really really soft. theyre great for park but every now and then i do wish i had gone with something like the x-wave 8 or 9 for some added stiffness. also i believe the flyer is the kids model of the 1080 foil boot

the 1080 is a cheap excuse for a a park boot. the beast is a better higher volumer all mountain boot.

i have the beast 10, its awesome all mountain, but in the park i can definitely feel it lacking. Hopin to pick up some SPKs next year for the park, use those for park and my beast 10s if im not skiin the park

Are your feet small enough for the flyers?

No i wear a size 10. I guess my biggest concern is that i weigh so much and that the 1080 boot is a medium flex. I just don't want it to be to soft for me to ski all over the mountain with.

My best suggestion would be to go to your local shop and try both out, walk around with em, test the flex and whatnot. Most of the people on this site have exaggerated opinions. Its all based on what you like..

even if salomon says the 1080 is a medium flex it is really a soft flexing boot when compared to the whole spectrum of boots out there. i only weigh 135 and dont ski a ton out of the park and i find the boot to be very soft. i think if you really like the fit of the 1080 boot you should look into the xwave 9 or 10 to counter your weight. also if you have a wider foot i would look into the dalbello proton line. those boots may not be quite as freestyle oriented as their krypton line but for people with wide feet they are ridiculously comfortable and come in a good range or medium to stiff flex.
as stated earlier the best thing you can do is go into some local shops and just try on as many boots as you can because the best boot is the one that fits best.

Alright then i guess i'm going to try on the boots again and see... I've also been looking at the dialbello Kyrpton Pro. "The green ones" Only problem is that the shop that sells them are like an hour and a half away. Just thought that could be an option to. I was also looking into the Dialbello rampage kyrpton. But yet again i'm thinking that the flex will be to soft for me.
So i'll look into the X wave but i also want to hear if anyone has tried the Dialbello Krypton Pro or knows anything about that.

if the 1080s fit comfortably then any of the krypton series boots will likely be too narrow for your feet. the 1080/xwave series run fairly wide and the kryptons run pretty narrow. i already said this but try on all the boots you can, dont get stuck on certain models and names because different boots fit different people and you will be much happier buying a boot that fits correctly than buying one because of its popularity. flex will be personal preference but just about all boots come in a variety of stiffnesses

By the way i did some reasearch on my old boots, tecnica entryx 5, from like 2001. And it said that they flex of these boots was a 50.
So i guess any of these boots would be a noticalbly stiffer than my old boots????? Cause the 1080 flyers have an 85 for thier flex.

I'm pretty sure all companies have their own flex rating, so you can't really compare across multiple brands by that.

exactly the flex rating can only be used to compare boots of the same company, its not a universal system. so theoretically your old tecnicas and the new 1080s could have the exact same flex even though the "flex ratings" are very different. but when comparing 2 different say salomon boots where one has a flex of 85 and one is 95 that helps show you that the boot with the 95 flex rating will be stiffer.

Alright thank i didn't know that different companies have different flex ratings. I thought it was a "universal standard"

Between the two I would go for the beasts, but at your size i would be looking more at the 12 then the 10. I am about your size and had a pair of beast 12s, the seemed pretty soft for me and actually kinda flimsy, I blew the ankle rivets out twice. I am now on the new Head Mojos with the added flex plates on the front.
