chilli cheese fries at mt. hood meadows are 6.75. they are trying to seem like an upper class resort by making shit expensive i hate it. 50% of their regulars are ski bums and teenagers. we cant afford eating.

Time for some educamacation for you little one - listen up cause your ginna be spending ALOT more in the future
1. The GLORY days of cheap tickets, greasy affordable lodge burgers and small lodges are GONE
2. They have been replaced by megadevelopers who only see ski areas as platforms to sell property
3. Ski areas have grown so much (high speed everything, new lodges, super pipes cut every five minutes, snowmaking, terrain parks evertwhere) that they can no longer turn a profit...even with 90$ tickets, they still lose money
4. With real estate being tapped out, new expansions limited by envirnmental concerns and a downswing in the ecomonmy...skiing is going to DIE an expensive and slow death!
5. Areas such as silverton are the only possible future for true skiing...mega-resorts will slowly die out, or become so expensive that my kids season pass will cpst more than a smester at harvard.
What can you do?
Support responsible growth
Spend your hard earned money at small town hills...homewood, silverton etc...
If the service sucks...let them know, a well written letter to the GM of a major resort gets surporising results
Other than that, get yo self a low interest credit card and pray! Or just move to costa rica and surf for the rest of your life, because you will not beable to afford to ski in the future

soft pretzel-1.68
fires-2.15
soda-1.65
candy-$1
tiny carton of milk-1.05
I usually just get a pretzel and hide the cheese under my napkin and drink the free water. saves me about $1

Your kinda right,
To develop Revelstoke (Accoding to an article I read)
They are going to put over 1 billion dollars into the project.
there will be heliskiing, cat skiing and regular lifts (all at the same moutain) witch will have the longest trail in North America and of course condo /hotel developments.
So to turn a profit they gotta charge a small fortune.
everything else is going up, (Wages, taxs, Fuel, Electric, Machinery, ect ect)
Build it and they will come. But you gotta pay the price.

380 dollars for a community young adult pass to sunday river. I've gone 40ish times this year. 380/40 is 9.50 a day. I find that skiing is not an expensive sport if you do it ever chance you get but its very expensive if you ski less than 10 times a year.
