i've been on em- skied em on hardpack/park conditions and they werent too bad.. a VERY VERY soft tail, but i bet they are amazing in powder. super fun to butter on, thats for sure
theyve got massiver rocker - when you hold them base to base theyve got a solid 6 inch gap between the tips and tails.
they do carve on hardpack eventually, but theyre pretty sketchy on icy ass black runs.
and yes theyre easily the softest skis ive ever tried
super fun ski. carve decently well on hardpack, as long as it's not too icy. absolutely slays pow. super duper fun. i'm seriously considering a pair for next season, one of the most fun skis i've ridden, ever.
such a sick ski!!!
The pontoons are so epic in the pow, but the hellbents take the great pow properties of the pontoon and add some other cool stuff. In the fresh the hellbents are stupidly good, no issues with flotation, easy to throw around, sick to stomp landings on. I rode them on a day where a section of the hill hadn't been opened till just when we got up - so had fresh pow conditions. So yeh, as a pow ski they are unreal - prob not quite as unreal as the pontoons as a pure pow ski, but then around the mountain they are way more fun!! Such fun in the park - nice big profile so feels solid on rails and maximum landing platform, plus easy to butter, effortless presses, no catching of tips n tails etc. Probably the most fun, versatile ski ive ridden.
