I was up at the mountain today and I was near the bottom where all the run-off is, skiing switch because that's the only way to make that shit fun. Because it's pretty easy terrain and I'm pretty good switch I was only really checking behind me every 5-10 seconds, and right under the lift I hit a slow sign dead on... flipped over it, bent my pole pretty much in half and ejected from one of my skis. Pretty epic haha.

Writing this I remembered another time over Christmas break. Me and my friend were skiing and saw these kids who had been cutting people off and making asses of themselves all day about to jump what had to be the stupidest cliff ever from the chair.. it was like two feet and there were all sorts of rocks and shit below it, so we started chanting "Jea jea jea jea!" at them really loud. We ski down to where they are and, as expected, they were still sitting around being idiots, so one of them challenged me to hit this little jib on the side of the trail. Given that we'd sort of been making fun of them, I decided to do something that was somewhat impressive, so I shoot a little bit more to the right than I should have so I could gap this log with one of the slowest, steeziest 180s I had ever pulled, but the problem was I went too far to the right, landed on this lip that I wasn't expecting, and ejected from both of my skis right in front of them.. sigh.

one time in the park at rib mountain in Wisconsin, this kid was talking shit to me as i skied by him, so i turned and skied switch while talking shit back

i was so intent on talking shit that i didnt look behind me at all and i hit the jump for this huge dfd switch and reverse nutted myself all the way down.

the worst part was i didnt even realized what was happening till it was too late.

today, i tried to 270 onto a 3 foot wide box and i got it all the way around, but then for some reason my ski tips got crossed after i landed and i guess i just got hung up on the box and i flew about 5 feet forward straight to my face, it was in front of a bunch of people, but its all good
later that day, me and my friend hiked newly cut trails that werent open yet and found a mound of snow with wind lips all over it, but the wind blew the snow off the landing so it was all crust, so i went to pop off the wind lip and my skis just sank into about 4 feet of powder and i tried to pop as my skis went tips down into the ground, my skis shot me like a pole vault and i double ejected followed by a 10 foot superman to crusty hardpack right on my face, luckily only 1 other person was around

there wass a shitty jump setup, it was smaller then last time i hit it... i had my jersey on, i thought i was the shit so i decided to hit it with a ton of speed, i hit it, overshot by about 10 feet and landed tips first to dub eject

one time before work (as a instructor) that was before i found out it was the gayest job full of fuck heads, i went up our begginer slope to switch three a little roller, this guy droped in front of me and i had to stop he stoped to watch as well, i droped and caught a edge on the take off face planting infront of the punter and the whole ski school at the bottom

today i was really boerd in the afternoon and didnt feel like pushing myself...at all so i was just doing alot of ones thru the jump line, on my third hit thru the jump line when i was at about 90 degrees i said hi to the people on the park lift and started waiving at them, i was about eye level with them, yeah i guess my waiving made me loose focus, i never spun past 90 and landed sid ways half way down the landing....soooo painful

last year i was hitting this propane jib that was setup striaght up to i decided to tap it a bit more and my ski caught and i had a huge double eject faceplant

well to start off mt skis dont have any breaks on them because i broke them off.well at my home mountain i was trying to misty of the tiniest jump in the world and i came pretty close but my skis dug into the ground and poped off and they went beside each other down the hill into a giant crowd of people waiting at the chairlift...all i saw was at least 30 people drop to the ground..i was a little scared to go over there since all these people where hurt..so i waited a little till i got my skis..

another one is at high north ski camp they have the S rail that was higher then my waist...that day every one was eating there yummy lunch and i was the  only skier skiing at lunch time because i really wanted to get the S rail dialed..so every one was eating there nice lunch and had a perfect view of me make it half way around the S rail and then slip and drop right on my balls...and the worst part was that no one else was skiing so no one could help me off of it..so i was laying there sacked and gagging and not being able to move at all beacuse one of my skis was stuck in bewtween the rail..and all i hear is  " awwww"  o shit" holy fuck""....the best part about this is i one some free shit for having the worst bail lol.....

it would seem that way, but it ended up being one of the best days of skiing I've ever had, it was just so fun to hit all the untracked powder, especially since i never see powder around here

i was doing a simple 180 so i was switch but one of my skis popped off and i looked like a complete failure at skiing infront of my friends.

when im back in ohio for skiclub i pretty much own everyone, so i try to show off.. well there was a 6 ft high flat bar with a pretty big gap on, and no one was hitting it and everone was watching, so i tried a 270 on it and caught the front of the rail with my skis and did a "gallants death" 6 feet down to the landing. i didnt want to ever get up and face those people ever again

this one time i was speed checking this jump right under the lift cus it was my first run and i was gonna do a hockey stop on the lip but i ended up not really stopping and kinda slidding so i completly shot off the lip completly sideways and landed on the tables deck with a huge thump it was pretty bad

i was going from the park to the lodge which involves skiing across two biginner runs. it was night time and i was going pretty fast but not really paying attention. there was a green snow fence in a shady area and i skied right into it, taking the fence out (and taking myself out in the process). most wide spread yard sale i've had.

My My friend double ejected today and his brake totally broke off and the ski went flying down the hill and cleared a 40 foot jump and barrel rolled so it stopped under the landing. BUT he was forced to ski down the crowded park on one ski haha

(1) Falling in the lift line or while getting on a lift. I'd say one or the other happens every year.

(2) Somehow eating shit on a simple 180 and getting hit the face with my ski. Total freak accident. But I had broken teeth and a hole under my lip, so I was bleeding all over myself. Add this to the context that I was skiing as a teacher with my students in Japan, where nobody rode park at the time.

(3) I did a lot of daffys, twister-spreads, and mule kicks in the 1990s. (Fuck it, I still do twisters off of small natural hits and mule kicks when I feel like it.)

So today i did a big mute grab in a 360 off a pretty big jump, and in an effort to really impress my parents, who never see me ski, ever, i tweaked the shit out of the mute, until....alas...my mute was over, and my ski had popped off and was now in my hand at the peak of my jump. Neadless to say, that landing felt wonderful. My mother was freaking out because she thought i died, it kinda sucked...

got hit by a snowboarder. 100% my fault cause i came off a c rail and skied witch into a landing of a tiny jump.

i also did like 25-30 feet to flat. my coach told me to be light on my feet and suck it up and i just launched it. half an hour to find my skis

Hahaha, I can just imagine the "Oh shit" look on your face... epic. You should definitely up your DIN setting though, ski shouldn't pop off from that.

The other day my friend and I were gonna race down the hill. We climbed up this little booth that had two starting places for a race. We do 3 2 1 go and I start skating and pushing as hard as I can. One of my poles came down on top of my ski and I totally ate shit right out of the gate. People on the lift were laughing. It was rough.

In a related story, in high school I was on the ski team and there was this one kid that was just awful at skiing. He starts out and eats shit immediately. One of my friends from another team starts laughing at the kid. Then when it was my friends turn to go he did the same thing.

well it wasnt really that embarrasing(sp) because it wasnt my fault really, but still funny as shit.

I was skiing wit my friends for the first time ( I never ski wit my friends cus i live 3 hours away from the hill and they can barely ever come wit me, and they snowbaord, soooooo)there was trip wit school and yeah.

SO since they are stupid snowboarders, and there was really no line in the lift, we were just making runs through the park and straight through the line cus there was no line. I was waiting for the chair (on that little line that says stop here)and my snowboard friend came flying through the empty line and was looking down to try and unbuckle himself at the same time. well i looked back foward and got ready to sit down and the next time i turn around to grab the chair my friend is already sitting on it, after coming in BEHIND ME and so i was like wtf?? and it was only a 3 seater (small for all of us to fit) but i ended up sitting down on his lap because i had no time to react. I tryed to hop over to the empy seat in between but my friend got tired of trying to pusuh me over and stuff (after like 5 seconds of tring) and just pushed me off hahaha. so i fell like 5 er 6 feet and trying to hop back on the same chair, with skis on and yeah it didnt really work haha so i had to go back to the start and get on again. yeah it kinda sucked cus there were a few people in the line by that time and i felt like a retard for stopping the lift....

so i was skiing at pc, and it was the last run of the day we were heading down to the parking lot where my dad was picking us up. I was going down to payday, carrying a lot of speed, and i turned my skis sideways to slide and stop. well i caught an edge, hit my head got knocked out for a few seconds, did a few flips down the hill, and then stopped, just lying there gushing blood out my nose. A bunch of patrollers and everything were there, had skis up as a warning and everything. it was hella embarrassing, cuz i wasnt even doing anything. Oh, and to top it all off, it put two three-inch cracks in my goggles. It was kinda funny tho, cuz the medic was like, "ok, i'm gonna ski down with u, so just take it easy", and i start skiing, and i look back, and after like 5 seconds, he's like 100 yds behind me, im like shit should i wait? nah whatever. but yeah, pretty epic.

ok so im rideing past these racers switch, and like the bunny hill, cause thats the only way down from the park, and so one of these racers thinks he's all cool, so he starts riding switch, but he dosnt have twins, so i start carving and doing little zero spins, and so the racer trys to carve and digs both his tails in and double ejects and goes flying back and both his skis are sticking strait up in the ground, it was so funny

I'd say it'd be a tie between falling on the magic carpet helping one of my students on and almost taking out another one of my students behind me and skiing switch in front of my students, not really paying attention ( I was oggling at another ski instructor), I trip over one of those stubby race things, falling in front of my students and the other ski instructor.

so today at a comp during the practice runs, I was going to do a cork 7 so I asked this kid to tell me how corked out I got right.... well it was a two jump set-up, so I was all, let me do something easy over this, so i go and do a switch right side 180, catch on the lip, flip upside down and land on my side. then this werid ass lady comes up from nowhere and is all, "oh my god, oh my god are you okay" and i'm all no, I cant breathe right now give me a minute, and she's all, "im calling the ski patrol" and I was like im fine, I get up and she like "sit down, wait for ski patrol" I'm like fuck you and I ride away... then the kid comes up to me and is all "yeah, that was pretty corked." so damn embarassing.

i dont think ive ever been embarrsed while skiing. I really dont care what other people think of what I do. Of course that will prob change when I get older but for now-whatever. I like doin embarrasing things on the hill-makes ya more comfortable with your skiing in general.

oooooo one time i was competing and at the end of my run i went down to the lift, and when i stopped i caught an edge and fell right in front of all these special olimpyics guys. i fell really hard and my nose was bleeding. i felt like such an idiot.

And skiing switch doesn't mean you're showing off, I do it whenever it's a trail that wouldn't be too exciting, I just really enjoy it.

me and a friend were going to meet someone at the top of the park so we rip mfrom this other chair as fast as we can to get there. right underneath the chair theres a place where it turns into a large turn and it was near the end of the day so everything was getting icy. i pin it around this corner, hit this patch of ice(park skis= no edges) and slip out and die on my head. i slid for about 50 ft underneath the cair with my skis up at my head. really embarrasing since everyone was pointing and laughing at me
