My parents said theyd spend 300 on my new skis cuz I broke old ones so I found mojo 80's for 450 and I owe them 150 (canadian). I think thats pretty fair but I know a lot of you guys work for all your own equipment or your parents pay for all of it. btw I made this after I saw the "RIP skis" thread
ya that other kid needs to get a job, or just do his homework. my parents stopped buying me stuff when i went to middle school. i think you got a pretty fair deal since your skis broke. its nice that your parents helped you out so you wouldn't be without skis in march.
Fuck No my mom doesn't pay for shit. I had to pay for all of my gear this year which sucks. and then she takes them away saying their in her house so its part of her's total bullshit
Ya exactly i got the invaders pretty cheap plus i'm riding on demo bindings i bought and some ghetto nordica boots becaue i had to earn all the money to pay for my stuff this year but i was making the best of it till my mom took them away with only like a month left in the season
i had to pay like 350 last season for my skis and bindings. my mom did pay 200 for my boots though and they get a lot of stuff for me on birthdays and christmas. im getting new the invaders in like 10 days for my birthday for example
oh yeah forgot about season passes. my mom buys those for me every year because she knows i'll use it and she likes that i actually go outside all day in the winter
my parents buy me my skis but they say it has to last a long time so if i want new skis after a year they will not get it for me and same with jackets. So i just buy my goggles and stuff like that my self
Parents buy some of my stuff.. They bought me a jacket, pants, and helmet this year. 2 weeks later i realized i hate it all and since then bought new everything but pants with my own money.
pretty much only thing theyll buy for me is some clothes, i pay for everything else
alll i can say is all you kids need to get fuckin jobs, i ve been working since i was 14, im only 18 and i have to pay for my car gas, phone, all my ski stuff, basically anything i wanna buyim [aying for, i save up and bought $2000 i mac a couple years ago and they didnt help me wiht a cent, become and idividual what aee you gonna do when you move out?
nah, they only will buy me helmet, poles and boots.
The boots prolly never again because my foot is prolly done growing. and poles i will prolly just steal a new pair
Your kidding right... 1500 for a sled ... especially if your in the mountians your looking like 700 minimum extended trank lke 3 yrs old used is like still 5 grand man
I buy everything. Sometimes my parents are nice and get me a piece or two of gear for christmas. They gave me a jacket and a pass this year cause it's my first year of ollege, which is sick, but I didn't get anything last year.
Haha, I've spent over $2,000 on skiing this year and I got both my passes for free. And yes, I pay for my own gear. Expecting your parents to buy everything for you is not the best way to set yourself up for life outside of the house, to say the least.
same here
im only 13 though so earning money isnt exactly easy... but im makin either a grand or 3 grand this summer (American money) and i might buy skis and a laptop if do the 2 grand option but if only one grand ima buy a laptop
I got hand me downs for years then when I wanted twins I had to pay for them myself. I pay for everything too. Food when I'm out, clothes, computer stuff, camera equip, and I don't get an allowance. I'm not really sure where most of my money comes from either...
my parents will pay what they think is resonable for skiing with the family. So like up to $250 for skis, $100 for bindings, and $200 for boots, and only when I need new stuff. Also they will pay for any days of skiing that are 'family ski days' everything else comes from me.
