Wonder if its possible to stomp a major spin off one of these jumps?
probably, they wouldnt be able to drop in at the same speed as the proper jumpers, and have you seen the crashes of these guys??!there awful, was a thread a few weeks back with videos of them, people would get massacred
also if im not mistaken they have like groove things your skis follow on the in-runs that your skis follow so that whenever somebody jumps it keeps them from spinning. it would be pretty hard cuz you wouldnt be able to carve the lip or setup with your lower body at all cuz the grooves would throw you off balance if you hit them.
here in switzerland there is a comp where you can hit those. winning it is just the furthest jump, but a few tried some stuff.. 1s and 3s where thrown and one guy tried a backflip.. didnt stomp that one
You'd have to modify the ramp a bit, maybe even extend it out a little more so you get more distance... you wont be floating on your skis like those jumpers do. I think it would be possible for sure... 6-7 seconds of airtime: Imagine what shit would go down. If you look at the jumps being made today, most are step up style ones, which are pretty safe and give you a lot of airtime. We're approaching the limit of how fast you can bomb into one of these, so eventually, we'll need to start doing jumps like these, where at most you're only 10 feet above the ground. When you get air like that, you need to have the safest jump possible, and hey, these jumpers have a good system and setup. I could see it working.
well rember when they hit that jump.. there trying to "fly" or fall with style... and you have to postion your body in such a way.. but yeah... id hit it
most do have the ski groves as stated above, but look at the skis they have to use, thry have dampening shocks on the heel to prevent injury, not sure if you could go as big as the ski jumpers on twins, may lead to dismmemberment. but video it if you are going to hit it..ok.
the world record is 237m i think.. But that is a k90 and a k120 right? you dont jump that far in those... gotta have the bad ass k185 jump;) Props to Anders Jacobsen for winning the world cup in Vikersund, Norway in january!!!
ho. ly. shit. too bad that isnt skiing. and also, they use nordic skis for jumping like that, so the skis arent attached at the heel. it's be different, but its been done, so whatever goes eh
