In general, backs are easier because the jump naturally throws you in that direction and you can spot your landing through most of the trick. However, if your jump has no pop a front might be the better choice, depending on which rotation is more natural for you. Try to practice on a trampoline, diving board, etc before you make an attempt in the snow. Do it on a soft day if you can.
me and my friend built a few 3ft kickers in his back yard after skiing the mountain and he just pulls a backflip without notice and hes not that great of a skier. backs are the way to go
