the mysterious mute grab in DNAspin

anybody ever notice that whenever you do a mute grab in dnaspin you go higher, get more hangtime, spin faster and flip more? it always happens to me. on the big yellow stepdown level i always overshoot the landing and i can pull triple backflips with mutes. and on the big air level i can do 1260's and sometimes 1440's if i pop right but only if i do a mute.

i don't know why, but japans seem to do the trick for me, i can pull huge 1440 japans perfectly, and i cant do it with any other grab.

does that game use real physics equations? I've played it but I can't remember how real the physics are. I noticed that a mute grab makes you spin faster too. If the game does use real physics, then tucking up like that uses the conservation of angular momentum so you would spin faster. just like on one of those spinny things in a playground you can spin faster if you stand in the middle.
