yesterday i messed up my knee on a lincoln loop.... i stood up it kinda hurt to put pressure on it but i skiied on it then this morning i woke up and it was hard to walk on and i cant straighten it out all the way whats the best thing to do for it besides go to the doctor... stretch? hot tub? anything
if i go to the doctor they will tell me dont ski for the rest of the season and i cant have that my season in the midwest is ending in like 2 weeks and there is a small ski cmap at the end of the season for 2 days that i musttttt attend so i wanna try a couple of things and see if it feels better and if not then ill go to the doctor...
no the 2nd jump or the middle one however you want to look at it i came down fine then kind of slid out the felt a sharp pain in my knee right below the knee cap now it just hurts im hoping i just strained it
i skied on my blown ACL (didn't want to go in to the dr).. didn't hit anything or do anything wrong and my meniscus was torn and ripped off the bone. that was the worst pain ever for me.... i regret it soooooo much
anyone know what it might me if i can gimp on it and bend it back but i try to straighten it alllll the way out to where your knee cap kinda like flattens out into your leg(idk how to explain that) and i cant striaghten it like that my knee has to be slightly bent or there is a sharp pain
really hate to say it but from some threads on torn acls and mcls i've read, sharp pain is nooo good. Especially if it kinda like popped. Seriously go to a doctor, dont ski on it until you do cause if it is torn, or damaged, you dont want to do anything worse to it or it will just take longer to heal. Go to a doctor, you can choose whether or not you want to take his advice after you see him.
sounds like u fucked it up go to the doctor sorry i hate to say it but ive torn my mcl and meniscus which is under your knee cap and helps the bones from touching or sumthing like that i tried to deal with it ubt they took me to the doctor and i was in surgery within hours after that doctor visit
don't be a dumbass and say that a doctor won't let you ski anymore. are you really going to be having fun skiing like that? just go to the doctor and see if you messed up your knee and prevent future problems. i have knee problems now and they're awful, i wish i had done something earlier for it.
if you can go to the doc. Otherwise give it a few days to see if everything is getting better, if it still hurts the same or isnt getting a lot better then dont be dumb and ski on it, 2 weeks isnt worth your whole summer and next season
yeah dog.
thats your acl.
its most likly partialy torn. which is a fairly long one unless your rich.
go ahead ski... fall fully tear it..and ruwin your next season to...
i just partially torn mine at the open... and it stil dosen't feel great.
sounds like a classic case of torn acl/meniscus. If you want to be a dumbass, keep walking around on it and try to ski on it....like everyone has said, sack up, go to a doctor, admit that you are seriously hurt and move on with your life. Skiing the last two weeks of this season is not going to be worth missing a significant portion of next season.
see but it hurt for about a day or so and i was worried and now i can walk around fine with a little swelling and brusing .... i guess im saying could it just be a strain or something else or would you put your money on it that its a tear
dude last friday i twisted my knee when my ski didnt pop off after a cliff band i went off of. i was able to ski after, just it hurt like heck when i twisted it side to side and it hurts when i straighten it out. i htink its just a sprain tho cuz it didnt swell up purply, just got kinda big idk if thats what urs is lik cuz mine is on the inside of my knee.
dont go to a doc, go to a physical therapist. docs are the people to see when you have cancer, heart disease or herpes. you fuck up your knee, go see someone who specialises in musculoskeletal injuries.
physical therapists.
period.
Then seek professional help. As in an orthopedic surgeon or physiotherapist. Your everyday run of the mill GP wont know fuck all, unless they're a sports med specialist or live in some place like whistler where they deal with an obscene number of the same injuries every day.
well if it keeps hurting when you walk on it it could be a minor tear of your meniscus not to scare you or anything but i think it could also be a bruise on like the side of our knee they kill too but if it keeps hurting you might wanna go for an MRI
I am not a expert but i have had some knee problems before (tore ACl sprained MCl and a very badly torn meniscus) so i know a little
at least you know its not to serious when i messed my knee up there was no way i could walk on it
but if it keeps hurting after like 3 day i would go see a doctor just to be careful you dont want to fuck with your knees if you plan on skiing your whole life
You can ski on it the same day, but the day after it's swollen: sounds like a partial tear.
Don't be a dumbass and get an MRI scan, get it treated as fast as possible so you're skiing again as fast as possible. The last thing you want to do is turn a partial tear into a complete tear, and do more knee damage in the process. Knees are too important in skiing.
